Excellent 3 night stay
Reviewed By sollenelleEasy to find and free safe parking. We arrived and found the hotel on a small square in lower Luxembourg, school buses were picking up in the square and we commented on how lovely and quiet the hotel was when we booked in. It was a 15/20 minute walk up the hill to the city centre but if you wanted you could catch the free city bus all the way there and back. A very comfortable and clean room and bed. Excellent breakfast brought to the table, a selection of pastries, bread, ham, cheese etc on an individual wooden platter. We stayed Friday Saturday and Sunday night. Unfortunately it seems that on Friday and Saturday the square is used by night clubbers to park to walk to nearby night venues. When they park the cars made quite a noise and when all the spaces were taken more cars kept driving round trying to find a space. This went on beyond midnight. When the passengers got out of the cars they were quite noisy talking to each other. They returned any time between midnight and 4.00 a.m. Which resulted in anything but a peaceful night. Working lorries (bins etc) started shortly after 6.00 a.m. Sunday did not suffer the same issues and we had a peaceful nights sleep.

Classic Charm
Reviewed By Janet PHotel Beau Site is a charming, quaint, and comfortable hotel. It has the best view of the Esch-sur-Sure castle which we often gazed upon from the balcony of our room. The view is lovely during the day and romantic at night. My husband and I enjoyed the peace and quiet that the turn-key hotel provided for us. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel owners, Mr. and Mrs. Thilges, are kind and went above and beyond expectations when Mr. Thilges drove us to the train station instead of taking the bus to the station.

Reviewed By Koen DHet hotel heeft verzorgde kamers met recente inrichting en degelijke afwerking. Lekker en uitgebreid ontbijt, vriendelijke bediening. In de onmiddellijke omgeving is voldoende parkeergelegenheid en alles in het dorpje is te voet bereikbaar. Als uitvalsbasis voor wandelingen of om de omgeving te verkennen is het ideaal gelegen.

Reviewed By JoshuaS192I’ve been to this restaurant quite a few times and have never been disappointed. Michelin star quality food. Unique and delicious dishes. Friendly staff. Try the foie gras. They do it really well. Definitely worth a visit! If you have the chance to eat on the patio, they have a very nice pond with waterfall.

A wonderful surprise
Reviewed By StraightTalker28I thought that Hotel Skol was lovely little place, but it seems other reviewers don't agree with me, especially concerning their sleep. I had no problems at all, I don't know what they were talking about! The hotel does not look like much from the road and, as others have said, it is at the side of a main road. But don't let that put you off, it's not as though you're sleeping next to a six lane motorway. Inside, it is charming. There is no lift which is a pain but the stairs are nicely illuminated and the corridor to the rooms is dark but strangely alluring. I had a single room and wow it was tiny, but it was perfectly fine for one person with a small suitcase. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was fantastic, it cooled the room down in no time. As others have said, it is a bit of a challenge to not flood the bedroom when having a shower, but it can be done. That being said, my shower's temperature had a mind of its own. Downstairs is a bar and a restaurant. I had nothing to complain about the noise at all, but maybe I got lucky. I thought the bar was lovely, though. On a summer's evening, it had plenty of people in order to create an atmosphere, the beer was good (Bofferding in particular), the room was decorated nicely, there was a big spirit selection and, all in all, for a hotel bar it was brilliant. Some hotel bars have the atmosphere of a cemetery, but this was a great place to have a beer. Car parking is free, breakfast is included, a bus into the middle of Luxembourg City is less than a minute's walk. All things considered, lovely little hotel and would highly, highly recommend.

Surly staff who treat customers as criminals
Reviewed By carrollastleyMy party of 3 who were prebooked had our passports photocopied and were then required to write our addresses on the back and sign. This was demanded by a sour faced receptionist. In 30 years traveling in Europe I have never experianced this before. Breakfast was plain continental which was no problem. However one should not have to ask for butter to put on the bread and for the orange juice. Also one should not have to ask if a second cup of coffee was possible. However after the above complaints I can say the rooms were very clean and the hotel has a good resturant with friendly staff.
