The welcome here is at best offhand and possibly even surly, and the interior of La Pilotine is dark and soulless. The restaurant is however well-placed and famous ‘sables’ of the broad sandy beach are right opposite - although there is no Terrace from which to enjoy the view.
Given the vast numbers of summer visitors who flock to this fashionable resort, it must be relatively easy for La Piloting to fill its tables without trying too hard. Perhaps this is why the cuisine has become routine and forgettable, no longer really meriting its Michelin bib gourmand - there is a sense the the owners are bored, and that their operation has become rather routine and uninspired . The food is competently done, but there seems to be little enthusiasm and the menu is somewhat greedily priced. There were no major flaws to our dinner, but somehow something was lacking - it was all rather mechanical and predictable. The service is efficient but indifferent, and nobody seemed to care.

Delightful small restaurant with good personal service. We were early diners, first through the door and the restaurant filled up around us. Lovely to see some locals in there too.
Great selection of food on the blackboard - I enjoyed a very refreshing Mojito too.
Lovely fresh food and beautifully presented.
It was a lovely stroll from our hotel, across on the ferry and then the same home.
A perfect evening. Would definitely return.

A superb dinner, the pigeon was exceptional. Prices are obviously more expensive in the evening. We have only been previously at lunchtime when the plat de jour is very very good and at a very reasonable price. A very talented lady chef and her husband a very attentive and friendly front of house.

This restaurant is pure class, starting with the view just beautiful and with an interior to match. We had the taster menu with wines at €115 and it was excellent. The chef here is very talented and his presentation is stunning. We are glad we did it for a one off. The only negative put we couldn't mark them down for is their lack of English, so didn't always know what we were eating.

But the best is the food, prepared by chef and his assistant, meals perfected using local produce, are examples of their culinary skills. Strange location on the front of a holiday camp-site next door to a pizza parlour but it works. Stylish interior and also outside tables. Free parking on the road and in the lay-bye outside.
Excellent menu, competitively priced. Attentive service, which is becoming unusual even in France

This is not my first time in cabestan as i visit every time im in Casablanca. Still very popular and quite good view and good food.
We had octopus and swordfish as well as prawns ans steak tartare with glass of good medoc.
Profiteroles and tiramisu to finish. Price is 100 eur for all quite reasonable for the quality of food service and location.

Good range of menus at a variety of prices, and opted for the Euros 23 and 28 - 2 and 3 course. The starter a savoury cheese cake wias excellent, as was the blood pudding/sausage dish. Mains of fish and veal both had an interesting array of vegetables offering lots of different flavours - all well balanced and highly enjoyable. The presentation was fantastic, and the lemon pudding was also pretty good. Would happily make a special trip to eat there again - it looked and tasted really special. Service excellent.

What a busy restaurant! Home made burgers, tartares, salads and grilled fish and meat are served by a friendly team. A nice terrasse with sea view and a large choice of beers. Enjoy your time!

Not the usual French setup - this is a proper burger bar with sports tv, surf inspiration and cool t-shirts - go for a safe value burger and cocktail!

This is a small restaurant. Probably no more than 24 covers. Non descrpript from the outside but tastefully decorated interior. The food was excellent and not overpriced we had 4 plats with 4 amuse-bouche. The desert was sensational. With wine €75 per head. You can see why this is one of Led sables D'Olonne's leading restaurants.
