I had been there twice before and was wowed. I returned last night with y daughter and granddaughter and again were very pleasantly surprised. The service was very efficient and above all personable and attentive and the Fondue selection outstanding. The taste delicious. the prices very reasonable. It was a very great evening in a nice and cozy ambience and I will return many more times and can really recommend this place for an authentic Swiss dinner experience. The restaurant is frequented by locals.

Les Touristes

Four of us stopped off in Martigny after a day out and decided to try Restaurant 'Les Touristes' on speck.
Nelson the restaurant owner was only too happy to seat us without booking and after some delicious rose wine we had a most splendid and sophisticated meal.
It is not often I wax lyrical about soup but the tomato soup starter was sensational, creamy with a basil dressing, we all adored it. Afterward we had Canette (duck), bass with coquille sause, Valaisanne pork cooked two ways, and beef ravioli; every dish was outstanding.
We did not manage to get to the Deserts but I would bet they were good also.
Don't miss this place if you are in the area, it has only been open 6 months but I would not be surprised if it eventually got interest from the Michelin man.

We went because it was close by on our first evening, and there was a vegetarian dish on the board outside (tagliatelle with chanterelles). We both had excellent salads to start. My wife had ... Erm, fish and chips (perch meuniere which came with a mountain of chips which slightly threw her). I have to say that my heart sank a bit when I saw my tagliatelle. How often is the option for vegetarians a risotto or pasta dish which is both too fatty and rich and too unvaried and starchy, so it becomes a tedious burden. However it turned out to be excellent all the way through, with the mushrooms delightful. The local wine was also very good, and we will be looking out for it in future. If we'd been staying longer (or it was open on Sunday) we'd no doubt have gone back.

This mountain restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip to Verbier! We ate there on two occasions: once for lunch after we hiked to the restaurant on a beautiful early spring afternoon and again for dinner after a 20 minute walk from our taxi drop off. Both experiences were slightly different; our lunch was eaten on the beautiful Terrace overlooking the mountainside looking down to Verbier and our evening dinner was inside the rustic mountain restaurant on a quiet weekday evening. The food at Le Marlenaz is delicios. I had the spaghetti bolognase for lunch and my husband had the tradiotional Rosti complete (with melted cheese, egg and bacon). For dinner I had the Rosti with grilled pork sausage and my husband had the pasta bolognese. Wine choices are good and both times our food was delicious! Desserts are wonderful as well.
Besides delicious food, the walk to the restaurant makes this a unique dining experience. After our evening dinner, we even walked all the way back to Verbier under the stars with the help of a headlamp! Talk about romantic and unique...it was a highlight of our weeklong ski trip to Verbier! HIGHLY recommend it!

First time in Fully this trip was after an afternoon at the thermal baths at Saillon le Bain. A small mixed group ranging from 50 to 80 we were chasing the evening sun and looking for a town with eating options. Originally, we only stopped here for a drink because the small roadside sunny Terrace caught our attention. We liked the atmosphere, and selection of local wines so much, that we stayed for dinner.
Everyone was thrilled with their choices but the 'Fillet de Peche' and Duck Pate Salad were the stars of the show. The local Asparagus was also being harvested and there were some great choices on the special seasonal menu, the Asparagus carpaccio being one.
So impressed we returned 5 days later when 'the kids', all boys aged 13 to 20 had come to join us.
Now the 'big guns' in the eating stakes were with us the selections took a different turn, with Carpaccio de boeuf and Steak Tartare dominating. Another thoroughly pleasant meal, late into the evening, enjoying the company of locals on the admittedly small but nice Terrace.
Was the restaurant a hit? It had to be because by a unanimous decision on our final night, we were back down the Valley, eating all our favourites again. Only difference this time, we were inside and accompanied by two dogs. The restaurant itself was very smart, with fresh linen table cloths and napkins and despite being in a relatively modern building, had a certain old world charm to it. As one comes to expect in Switzerland, it was also spotlessly clean.
On all three of our visits over the ten days, this restaurant was heavily supported by the locals of Fully, a testament to the quality of the cooking.
Finally, I have to mention the staff, all of whom were thoroughly professional and pleasant, especially the young Portuguese chap, who as an added bonus for those in the group who spoke little or no French, was fluent in English.

This restaurant is famous not just for its situation and the views accross the Valais central, but for its excellent grilled meat, and one of the starters, snails cooked in a special mustard cream sauce.
The access road is a narrow steep mountain road, with many hair pin bends, but despite that the Restaurant is usually busy.
Remember to reserve in advance during the autumn saison de chasse (game season).
The wine list has many good local wines, but the vin du Patron (Fendant) is recommended on good quality and value for money.
The service is efficient and friendly.
A visit to this restaurant is a memorable occasion, but dont forget to check the weather forecast before tackling the approach road and also to ensure you can enjoy the view.
