Re-furbished November 2013, The Crown is truly the flagship pub of the Wadworth Brewery,specialising in home cooked food with a modern twist. Steaks and ribs from the grill, duck and chicken from the rotisserie, a fabulous range of tapas and sharing boards are served along with the pub classics. A selection of 6 real ales complimented by an extensive wine list, alongside our coffee bar serving Brian Wogan coffees and hot drinks.

I had the Brie and Bacon baguette with a side of chips. The food was well presented and very tasty. Service was friendly throughout and the food was good value for money

As the original Bistro in Devizes (established 2003) we pride ourselves on being true to the original concept - that is a small, family run establishment (usually with a chef owner) providing a menu that often features slow cooked, seasonal dishes. The setting is traditional in that it is informal, relaxed and cosy. However, we are known for food that 'tickles the tastebuds', is influenced by a range of cuisines and always has The Bistro 'twist" to it. Open both at lunch time and in the evening, we have the distinction of also running a cookery school, now known as Vaughan's Cookery School and operating from another location in the town. Committed to sharing a passion for good food, Chef Peter Vaughan is a member of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and of the Slow Food Movement.

It was a sunny August day when we visited, the cafe was pretty busy but we found a seat ok though it was a little cramped inside. The coffee was good, and the others enjoyed their cake, though there was no gluten free cake on offer.

We recently visited The Well @ Bulkington for a Sunday lunch. We had visited previously about 8 moths ago and it was superb with no complaints.
Unfortunately this visit was not the same!
On the plus side, the starters were lovely. My starter was the Brie parcels with cucumber ribbons and relish. Although the Brie was on the small side with only 3 x 1” parcels it was delicious.
The desserts looked and tasted delicious.
We had 4 x roast chicken & 2 x roast pork main courses.
My roast pork was almost non existent, it really was a very small portion, it was over cooked and hard. The stuffing was very dry and not very palatable. There were two potatoes on the plate which were a poor excuse for roasted potatoes. No crispness but just tough skins, it was just like they had been kept under a heat lamp for some time.
The roast chicken comprised a small drum stick and a very small bit of breast. Hardly any meat at all on any of the drum sticks.
Ditto the potatoes comment.
The accompanying vegetables were plentiful and very nice.
Sadly the main courses we had were not up to a good standard at all, and for £18.95 for two courses & £23.95 for three courses it wasn’t good value for money.

Our restaurant specialises in seafood delivered daily from St Mawes, in Cornwall. A full- la- carte menu offering meat and game dishes using locally sourced produce is also available in the restaurant and bar. The George & Dragon offers award winning food and is complimented in many food guides. It has been awarded 2 AA rosettes & an Egon Ronay Star.

This restaurant specialises in fish and seafood, which is really fresh and expertly prepared/cooked. Never had a bad meal here and today's Sunday lunch was no exception. Very tasty crab followed by perfectly cooked and tender sirloin of beef, plenty of nice vegetables - roasted baby carrots and parsnips, crunchy potatoes, perfect cauliflower cheese - and light airy Yorkshires. It was great and we really didn't have room for dessert, but with 3 courses for £22.95 it would have been rude not to. Wine list is carefully chosen, good quality at not silly prices (apart from the Chateau d'Yquem with which comes a free night's stay - almost tempted!). Service is friendly, timed just right and in all we thoroughly enjoyed it - sorry we stayed so long but you shouldn't have made us so welcome.

Owners and staff very friendly and helpful, nothing to much bother. Excellent selection of food and drinks all fresh and I think homemade.
I had the spring onion and cheese quiche, which was to die for, best I have tasted anywhere.
well laid out and nicely decorated with a view over the market square. Flight of stairs from pavement to reach the restaurant.

Haven't been here for some years and thought it time to re-visit. Not disappointed at all. The two ladies had cheese souffles to start with, excellent, followed by Guinea Fowl which was also approved off. I had the Ox Cheek special, very rich and tasty. Prices not unreasonable and good service from the cheerful staff. Definitely going back

Meeting for lunch in this lovely unpretentious country pub we all enjoyed a well cooked and well presented lunch, there were no complaints from anyone! Good generous portions, good value, friendly and efficent service......not my first visit and will return!
