We ate for breakfast during a big festival and this place was very crowded. The service was very slow, I think they were just overwhelmed. The food was so so, my wife's enchiladas were lukewarm But the interior is great with all sorts of wonderful 1930s, 1940s Mexican photos.

The food is mediocre at best, and more imprtant: They did not have most on the items on stock which were on the menu. We did come here twice regardless because they have a roof Terrace with a great view on the plaza - definitevely worth it. Just come here for a drink.

We came here for breakfast a couple of times. The food is okay, not outstanding. I had the chilaquiles and a mushroom omelette. The coffee is quite week, but that's kind of par for the course in Mexico, although they grow great coffee near here. The view is very nice of the plaza.

This beauitfully decorated restaurant definitely keeps with the charm of Cuetzalan being a "pueblo
magico". This restaurant has two dinning rooms, one with large windows looking out onto the streets, the Cathedral and hills of Cuetzalan. It is located very close to the zócalo. I ate there three times during the week I spent in Cuetzalan. When I had a late lunch on Sunday afternoon there was live music in the restaurant. It was charming. They have a very good mushroom soup here. I especially liked their potatoe tacos. They had a large selection of food that is from the region. It is opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would definitely eat here again if I visited Cuetzalan and I would recommend it to other travelers.

We visited this restaurant based on it's reviews but it definitely didn't live up to it's 2nd place listing in Cuetzalan. The restaurant is nice enough but the patio is grim with very uncomfortable chairs. The service was ho hum and not super attentive once we got our meals. The food came really fast which is usually a bad sign. It was very bland, small servings and uninteresting. I don't recommend this restaurant at all.

The food is tasty, regional antojitos like empanadas, cecina, tamales, mole, pipián, and delicious soups. The highlight, though, is the ambience. The humid stone walls are illuminated by ceramic and woven lamps, and on Friday and Saturday nights a couple of musicians take requests and really animate the crowd. Lots of fun.

We stopped in here on a warm Sunday afternoon for cold coffee drinks, beers and aguas and discovered a couple of hours later that it was one of the few places serving dinner Sunday night, when the town has emptied out after the big market. Three of six tables had customers. All the offerings were fine, a step above "bar food," and inexpensive. Good service. Bonus table visits from a parade of persistent little old indigenous ladies selling handicrafts.

We are a restaurant 100% Cuetzalteco With over 60 meals on our menu. Breakfast. Pasta. Salads. Seafood. Regional food. Food of the day. We have catering service, we fit your budget.
Me and my gf decided to try this restaurant after it being recommended to us by our outdoor adventure guide (as well as Reading positive reviews online).
First, we weren't greeted by staff at all...we had to look around the restaurant to find working personnel. Our server (owner as well?) was not welcoming and took our orders with a strange, annoying, forceful voice (as though he was some kind of news anchorman in a comedy sitcom). Our food took a significant time to arrive at our table. My gf ordered milanesa (breaded steak) and I ordered plain steak...both were dry and had an unpleasant taste to them...we literally had to drench our steaks in ketchup to cover up the unpleasant taste. The ambiance was nothing memorable (typical hole in the wall mexican family restaurant). All in all, the food and service were consistent with other restaurants we visited in downtown Cuetzalan (generally bad in my opinion). If you are ever in Cuetzalan the only good food you will find that will not dissappoint is generally outside downtown area (i.e. Villas Cuetzalan restaurant and the like).
