Great pizza, huge salads, and super friendly staff. This worked for us! The entire meal was explained to us in English by the super friendly host/owners partner. Everything was delicious. Doesn’t open until 4:30 pm.

Pavones lies around 15 km south of Playa Zancudo and on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Around 400 km south of the capital city San Jose, the best way to get to Pavones is via Golfito, from where you can catch a cab to here. The restaurant is just south of Rio Clara along the coastline.

When we arrived we were welcomed by the owner. She chatted and showed us to a table while discussing the changes since our last visit. The decor is welcoming and the staff very accommodating. We enjoyed appetizers and a wonderful meal. All were exquisite. The lasagna was more than enough and the flavor will bring me, and others back for more. Thank you for the wonderful time and meal.

Located on the Ocean drive Beach, we have some tables just on the water, for a scenic sunset dinner with candlelight and Soft Eclectic Music. it is more than 14 years that Il GIardino is rising the bar of the quality of Food, Service and Ambient, establishing the comparative mark for local and not local restaurant. This Year we started serving, first in town ever, GRILLED WHOLE FISH AND ITALIAN STYLE " FIORENTINA " STEAK, obtaining great appreciation from our Guests. We try to use, the most is possible, local products for our plates, and we, as always, produce our homemade Pasta and Bread, being, again, the only one in this. We utilize only Local Farmer Meat, that we season following the Old Italian Tradition from Toscana and Piemonte, and we prepare it on the Grill, just in front of our Guests. Our BANANA-BOMBA dessert is an unique creation of us, and somebody says that "...it is the Tiramisu' of future!!" The Fresh Fruit drinks we prepare and the Cocktails are always made with fresh fruit and no prefabricated mix are involved in them. We are the Culinary experience you are looking for in the OSA!!

The food is really good here and quite authentic. I had the meat lasagna. The bruschetta was DELICIOUS! Very nice atmosphere. You can dine inside or out, right along the Golfe Dulce. Nice place for a quiet meal...a little nicer than most of the restaurants in Puerto Jimenez.

Anyway, the drinks were awesome. Service was great. Food was only so so....
Bratty American kids playing in the front area near the nice lounge area disrupting our tranquility. Parents were not really controlling them so well.
Go for the drinks!

Best Ceviche of a month's stay in Costa Rica. The mixed seafood soup (with milk) was delightful and came with a side dish of rice, lots of prawns,crabs and fish in this dish. Other diners had substantial plates of food delivered. Only wished we had more time in town for a return visit. If you want to dine at lunchtime check if there is a cruise ship in the harbour as the restaurant is very busy then

Lapa Rios is an amazing place. Hard to get to (45 minutes by Land Cruiser from Port Jiminez) but well worth it. Ultra friendly staff, lots of wildlife to see (monkeys, toucans, macaws, frogs, interesting flora) and excellent food. Unless you are fit avoid cabins 12-17 as they entail a huge climb to the restaurant

Great service by staff competent in English. Best fish tacos ever with generous portions beautifully presented. Very informal. Just step off the boat and walk in. The also have enormous and succulent shrimp.

I joined some friends at this lunch place so we could enjoy some good local food and internet access. Both proved to be excellent. I had a yummy smoothie and a rice. bean, and diced ham bowl with tortilla chips - I wish I could remember what it was called. For a quick, delicious, and nutritious lunch, with Wifi at a reasonable prce... Cafe Monka provides!

As usual, our group was served a delicious lunch. Everybody seemed to have something different from their famous hamburgers to fried fish to ceviche to nachos, and everyone was thoroughly pleased.
The atmosphere is beautiful, and the chairs are very comfortable, something not always encountered n CR restaurants.
Highly recommend in Golfito.
You can legally park alongside the street in town; it's sort of a Golfito tradition. Just don't totally block the sidewalk.
