Boksburg is a city on the East Rand of Gauteng province of South Africa. Gold was discovered in Boksburg in 1887. It was named after the State Secretary of the South African Republic, W. Eduard Bok. The Main Reef Road linked Boksburg to all the other major mining towns on the Witwatersrand and the Angelo Hotel (1887) was used as a staging post.

The restaurant is on the first floor and it has a lovely view from the top. Prices are affordable and very welcoming manager. Waiters are on top of the job so I always enjoy our evenings. They offer a variety of meals. I have brought friends from abroad there a number of times and I always enjoy their fresh sea foods. Whenever my friends come back to South Africa they ask if we could go to the same place even when I would love to expose them to tother places.

We had a very nice home cooked meal at a reasonable price. There was a big selection for the Sunday buffet, including soup, extremely tasty fresh bread, salads, cold meats, warm meats, vegetables and dessert. We were all fully stuffed afterwards. The service was a bit slow at times, but always friendly.

We were a group of 7 people who visited Il Gusto Ristorante on 14 December 2017 for a birthday. After dining here a few times, but quite a while before, we decided to try it out again - what a big mistake we made thinking that the standard was still the same! 2 Of us ordered the same pasta dish, 2 ordered chicken espetada and the other 3 meals ranged from prawns to steak. We placed our order at 19h00 and the food only arrived at 20h30 - 1 1/2 hours after we placed our order!!. The 2 pasta dishes didn't look the same, although the same item was ordered. We asked the waiter why there was a difference and he mentioned that the kitchen didn't have enough of the specific type of pasta used for that particular dish. So they improvised and mixed 2 types of pasta. They never once came back to us to explain the situation to allow us to maybe choose something different. The 2 chicken "espetadas" had 3 chicken thighs (still with all the bones in it!) on a skewer! In my history of ordering espetadas, the meat was always deboned. By this time we were already so hungry and tired of waiting, that we decided to just eat and not send the food back. The restaurant was only half full, so there was no reason for our food to take that long (not that it would have been an excuse in any ways). Our waiter could not be found anywhere to ask about our long wait or to order drinks while we were waiting. Needless to say, by the time we were done with our main course, we decided that we did not want to wait for another hour for our desert and went to another restaurant to get desert from there. I will NEVER go back to Il Gusto - don't know how they get such a high rating in the 1st place! I would not suggest this place to anyone and would rather drive further to go somewhere else!

Very big and interesting restaurant. Quite noisy. Food was good - the impala steak especially so. The service was friendly and tried to be helpful but had no knowledge of the food or wines. We wanted something white, dry and sparkling and ended up with a very fruity and sweet red fizzy wine! Interesting! We chose better with the red wine that we knew was going to be red!

Having being to Cafe Bellini some time ago when it was great, now again it was also good quality food well presented with good service but the difference was that they have now put up big shade area outside. So in our hot summers & sometimes rain there is a pleasant area to sit..The Italia & Kota pancakes can be reccommended.

We again had a wonderful meal at Classic India. Service is consistently kind, considerate, and accommodating. We intended to order more dishes than we could eat so that we would have plenty of extra to take home (where we live we don't have such great Indian restaurants), and advised the waiter of this and he was very helpful in boxing up all of our many leftovers. He also recommended some wonderful new dishes that we hadn't tried before. As always, our very favorite is the butter chicken, but you can never go wrong here by asking the servers what their favorites are -- it is a wonderful way of discovering new favorites. The massive table full of take-out orders ready to go and waiting for customers to pick up on a random Thursday night is testament to the fact that the food here is worth making a stop for. Also, excellent value for money and nice quiet atmosphere. This is now an appointment restaurant stop for us every time we visit Joburg.

Had Lunch at Haveli during a business trip to Johannesburg. Ordered a dhal Gosht with Basmati rice. Well prepared and tasty.Good service. Restaurant was not busy.Inside or outside Seating area. Ample and safe parking overlooking the restaurant. Good option if you are looking for a good and tasty curry when you are next in Boksburg.Worth a try.

Must say .. for the first time in awhile i found the one spur that had me wanting to pack it in early and rather make dinner at home . I have enjoyed meals at this Spur before , but tonight i think they got it all wrong ... service was shocking , quality was way bellow par for a franchise and the attitude to poor presentation is a simple , that's how the kitchen made it .Free coffee/ desert to make up for a terrible meal made it feel like i was just being given something to shut up .... well i will hope the next visit is a better one
