Dorset Country Pub - As New Owners Since November 2017, We look forward to welcoming to visitors old and new and locals alike. Our ambition is to serve good traditional pub food at the highest standards! In addition to our fantastic menu, we offer Badger real ales, delicious wines and soft/hot drinks. Service starts daily with a Traditional Breakfast followed by lunch and dinner. We are open all day, 7 days a week from Easter through to October, but from November through to the end of February, we offer limited open times, but always with a breakfast and lunch service. In addition, we serve a superb Sunday Carvery every week between 12pm and 7pm, but unfortunately "When our Roasts are gone, they are Gone!" so please book early to help us to ensure that we don not run out and disappoint! "Pie Night Fridays" is one of our feature nights - when we offer "All that you can eat" for £9.95! Booking is always recommended as we do get very busy!! We look forward to welcoming you very soon!

Apparently changed owners recently. Very pleasant staff for our quick lunch. Reasonable prices, with food quickly served and fresh in a bright (freshly redecorated?) restaurant area. Portions were generous.
We regretted that we were not staying close enough for an evening meal and would not be passing in time for the breakfast!
Many thanks

Nice range of breads and ready made foods, good service but compared to other places the bread (Which is all I bought) is a bit pricey. I tend to prefer sourdough which I know costs more but it was dear considering this is a chain albeit a small one.

We booked this last minute and were ‘warned’ there would be fancy dress. When we arrived there were a group of people around the bar who had all made an amazing effort and looked great. We were welcomed in as if we were regulars.
The food was great and the barman was great bringing us drinks to the table.
The evening got quite loud as they played games at the bar, some very inventive involving a tape measure. The landlady came over to apologise for the noise but there was no need. The whole night made us wish we were local and regulars.
We will absolutely be back.

Looking for somewhere to grab a light lunch on a Monday as Yellow Bicycle Cafe was closed AGAIN (it seems they are not open Sundays or Mondays), and wandering around Blandford, this placed looked nice. As it was a warm and relatively sunny day we sat at a free table outside.
Service was friendly and food was tasty, however there were no menus anywhere and so we assumed that the only food available to order was what was written on the board behind the till. It seems not, as I noticed other people with larger meals inside after we had ordered. Another thing that put me off was a customer with two young children screaming and shouting and doing nothing about it whatsoever. Each to their own I guess. Food was tasty, but expensive for what we had (toasted sarnies). Would maybe pop in again for just coffee and a Danish, but lack of direction/atmosphere puts me off spending anymore.

The Cricketers

We tend to stick to the classics and not mess with them too much. Instead focus on quality of ingredients and attention to detail in the kitchen. Pies, Sunday roast, fish and chips and a good curry are part of our culture and what people expect to see on the menu at a pub. There is a small space on the menu and specials board for the more adventurous diners where dishes like pig's heads crubeens and seafood bouride etc. Are found to be very popular. We also focus a lot of care on our children's menus making sure only fresh ingredients are used and that they too change with the seasons.

We love the cricketers and tend to visit often for a birthday treat! Joe and Sally are fantastic hosts as are the team! Excellent choice of food and great veggies options. The beers well kept too! Highly recommend anyone to try the Cricketers! You will not be disappointed! Pie night is a booking must!
