Upscale restaurants aren't easy to find in Berat, they just aren't quite there yet. Then again, do you really want some snobby places opening up? It would ruin the quiet town not overrun with tourists.
Nice restaurant with great views of the town and river. At the time I visited they were hosting a local wedding reception so the upper level was open and you could only order pizza. Fine by me......nice wood fired pizza, but came with a lot of canned toppings.
Service was decent, and they do have an extensive menu that is a good value. I probably wouldn't go back here for dinner, but a nice lunch spot with good views....I'll take that!

OK. The good stuff. Actually the great stuff. The food's wonderful (go for the aubergine stuffed with mince, tomatoes and something wonderful), the staff clearly all naturally nice people who want to enrich your life and you get a roof top Terrace with uninterrupted views of those beautiful, city ringing hill.
Now the bad news.
(Play the sound of one hand clapping in your head).
Actually there is some bad news. It's so indecently cheap you'll leave there with a lousy conscience even if you try to save your soul from Hell with a monster tip.
If you come to Berat and don't eat here you're an idiot and there's no hope for you. If you do you'll waddle off that beautiful Terrace over burdened with foodie goodness and a troubled heart like I did.
Treat 'em well. These guys are to restaurants what Clapton was to guitars.

The atmosphere is very "castle" like and regal. Service is very attentive. You should go on a quiet night and get to know your hosts. Alma and her staff are very attentive and kind. The food choice is wide and they always have what is fresh in season. Wonderful atmosphere and great views down along the Osum River.

The food here is more than acceptable.
The ground floor room is comfortable, but try to eat on the first floor at a window table so as to enjoy the view over the River Osumi.
The owner is a friendly lady who speaks both English and Italian.

This small restaurant was in the same building as our guesthouse within the Berat Castle walls.
We had here twice, and both time the food was good as well as reasonably priced. Most things in the menu are between 250 and 400 Leke, and everything can be ordered in half portions.
We also found the staff to be friendly and welcoming.

We ate numerous times on the patio outside overlooking the river toward Berat. The food was always well done; choose a good appetizer and you cannot go wrong with anything you order. Ask Zamira what the special is. They also have a decent choice of beverages and have excellent serving staff. The decor is comfortable and very Mediterranean.

Friendly Reatsaurant located in the heart of the historic city of Berat. We offer the best view you can get , fresh air and outdoor eating on the best conditions. The dishes are mostly traditional Albanian but we also provide International dishes. The staff speaks fluent English and its qualified on service. The prices are reasonable and satisfying for everyone. Open every day from 10:00 until our last client leaves the place. You are welcomed !!

We were drawn to this restaurant based on the TripAdvisor rating and were sorely disappointed. Service was indifferent and the food was very basic. We ordered a number of pasta dishes and chicken all of which were edible but very forgettable. The location is nice but that's about the only thing to draw you to it. Take some time to explore the better options in Berat such as the restaurant at hotel mangalemi you'll have a far more enjoyable experience.

We had a wonderful meal. The food was well prepared and the staff accomodating. Although we ordered without incident, two women arrived just after we were seated, but they were told their was no food left, so,were turned away. Confusing, yet still a good option. ,

We walked 80 meters down from our new Osumi Hotel and noticed lots of activity around this new looking restaurant. After inspecting its extensive overhead menu(gyros, pizza, crepes), we selected a tuna crepe and a Greek crepe, then waited at a sidewalk view table noting the workers in the clean open kitchen and the waiters servicing tables.
In 10 minutes we were presented with our order(wrapped in aluminium foil and placed in a plastic bag) for us to enjoy in our hotel. They were both filling and delicious at ~200 Lek each.
