Good prices, excellent food, nice environment. Highly recommended. I have eaten several times there and always got surprise for the good food and taste. A good combination between Mexican tradition and gourmet food. Also it has choices for vegans and taste pretty good. Juices are so good! You can talk since music is low. Services are excellent. Waiter is always open to help, nice and explain the content of the food. You got what you ask for. Go there, I'm sure you won't regret and got surprise as I do. I always go there when I go to Guanajuato city. It's just right there close to bus station

Love this little place where many students/teachers meet over homework or for questions/trainings. Very simple place with wobbly tables and more than 20 teas to choose from. Excellent salads too. Only downfall in my book are there prices, a bit higher than similar in the area. That is all however and I keep returning here for some of my classes with tea and good conversations. Never feel pushed to finish your drink/food, they leave you alone, to follow your own rhythm.

7/5We three British middle aged pescatarian guys were exploring Guanajuato and wanted a change from the usual Mexican food. We had seen the Diego Rivera House, had a drink in Tasca de la Paz by the big church and needed some food.I had looked up the budget options earlier and found Habibti to satisfy our needs. We wandered to the location on the TA map and found nothing. Oh dear, another incorrect map location. The address was correct but nothing there except seemingly derelict buildings (maybe that is where they started till they got popular?).A search in the area eventually found the corner building housing the restaurant so in we went.It was quite busy at 16:20 on a Tuesday so we took a small table in the corner. The cheerful waitress offered us some menus in English and they described some enticing vegetarian and vegan options. There was no alcohol obviously but the juices on offer seemed interesting, albeit a bit pricey for '£', so that is how they made up some profits. My friends chose a vegan 'Felafel Sandwich Basico' (52) each, one specified without tomatoes. In my curiosity I ordered a 500g Gigante (76). For drinks we ordered two small glasses of Hibiscus Jamaicas (18) and a natural, still & large Lemonade (28)I wandered out of the restaurant to take pictures (for TA to show and correct the location) and explore and on my return the drinks and my friends' smaller wraps had arrived, each in a paper cone. They found them very tasty. No forks were provided obviously and the tissues provided were quire small so they were messy to eat. My very large wrap came and was generous but equally messy! The drinks were fine and the felafel seemed to have been mashed up in the middle of the mashup of ingredients, not what we usually have in London or Berlin. The atmosphere was quite convivial until a screaming child began a performance. The room is quite echoey and it appeared the child was one of the staff's as the woman next to it (on a high chair at the counter) just walked off as it was so loud. As my friend only has one functioning ear (on that side) it was quite painful so we had to think about leaving, but not before trying one of their 'chocolates veganos'! I had been searching for some decent chocolate in the town, having resorted to the disgusting sugary artificial American Hersheys (Britain's Cadburys, now US owned is going the same way). It was quite expensive at 19 (but a small H in OXXO is 18) but it promised a lot. The waitress was confused and asked me if I was sure I wanted one; odd as it was on the menu! It arrived quickly as a small ball wrapped in paper. It was rock hard and impossible to bite through. Several attempts to hammer or cut it with a knife nearly resulted in broken tables or injuries to ourselves or fellow diners. I asked the waitress how it was to be eaten and she was bemused again. Maybe it was a gobstopper sweet? We could not finish it so wrapped it up and took it home.We ordered the bill and it came as a handwritten accurate bill (missing out the chocolate price but it was included in the total) of 263. The screaming child had stopped (maybe they fed it a chocolate?) and we paid in cash 290 in total including the tip so that was 10%. We left sated and happy although in need of a drink which we found on the bridge if the pleasant Santo Cafe nearby where we actually ate a bit more! The Habibti toilets were outside the room down a corridor and there was also a wash basin by the counter for washing hands after the invariably messy meal.A note on the menu indicates low alcohol drinks were allowed in to accompany the meal. We dod not see anyone drinking. Most of the customers were tourists or better off locals. This was not a '£' place as specified.I am sure I wrote a review to this already but maybe it was just the comments to the pics I submitted that were never published (slow or erratic wifi can corrupt uploads).Thank you very much for your comments:) I am happy you liked our sandwiches. Most people eat them without a fork, but you can always askfor one. I am so sorry that your chocolate was hard - it shouldn’t be!In our restaurant you can always return a product, if it is not served in the expected quality - we won’t charge you.In our old location we had a beer permit - and are still waiting for the new one and will publish it as soon as it is renewed. As you said Santo Café is a good choice to have a beer after your Falafel dinner as it is just around the corner. Thanks again, I hope you enjoy your trip to Mexico.Julia(the address of Habibti Falafel is Sostenes Rocha 21:)
