While staying in Kallstadt, we had lunch there. We sat outside on a lovely afternoon and enjoyed good wine and a snack of excellent Parmesan cheese with balsamico. We explained that we only wanted a snack and they treated us as if had ordered an expensive meal. We had a very relaxing time after a walk through the vineyards and also bought some bottles to take home. It was on a Sunday and it was busy. As soon as a table became free, it was taken again. It is a very stylish place.

Been there for dinner on a Saturday night. We got there at 1830 left at 2130 - during that time we had wine then first course followed by main and desert. The dishes were BRILLIANT where anything else was waiting time. Personally I don't think it was too slow since we had wine and enjoyed ourselves in the meanwhile but ya'll gotta know this ain't a place for a "fast eat". The courses was seriously great - salad & carpaccio were made SO well, not the common ones you would find in a high class restaurant but more sophisticated. Main courses - the beef stripes were unbelievably tender and the sause & the potatoes with truffles side dish went perfectly well with the meat. I had lamb fillet with scoops of potatoes with Rosmarin which was amazingly tender and flavored. For desert we had the combo which combined all the main deserts so you don't have to struggle with choosing one. Needless to say the wine from that region (BW) was premium. Staff was highly professional and spoke perfect English. Highly recommended!

We have become regular visitors to this tiny little restaurant located in a narrow side road in the town center of Bad Dürkheim. Food is absolutely fresh and delicious. When coming in autumn try the 'Böhmische Knödel' with mushrooms picked by ~90-year-old restaurant owner himself earlier the same day. He will show you his 'catch of the day' on his new smartphone and entertain you with his unique humour. A marvellous restaurant! Go reserve in advance.

I had one of the Pfälzer specialities which is their house speciality, the Römer Teller, consisting of a sausage, a liver dumpling and a slice of stuffed sow's stomach (doesn't sound particularly appetising but it was the best part of the dish), all this served with proper bread, mustard and Riesling sauerkraut. It was very tasty and at Euro 12.50 terrific value. I also had an excellent Riesling wine. I'll certainly visit this place again when I'm in the area.

Seeing the wine barrel is worth the stop. Great photo opportunity. Restaurant has tables built inside smaller wine barrels and worth a peak inside. Food was pretty bad. We had the sausage platter and tasteless. Service was extremely poor and had to pay to use restrooms even though we ate and drank there. Lots of parking in the area. A few shops near by but not a large selection.

I don't think Frau Wolz will be too happy about this review, the house is small and caters mainly for locals. It may bring many more to her kitchen. She did, however, make us very welcome and we had three lovely evenings with great homemade food, and some lovely wine and recommendations given by her to ensure that a good time was had by all. thank you Christina we hope to be back

I called ahead because the first two restaurants were full....what luck! I Google mapped it here 2.1km...thrpugh the vineyards! It was a beautiful walk! I was so thrilled to get to the restaurant which appeared to be very clean and traditional. I went during Spanish lunch time 14.30...so I had a big booth all to myself! The staff tag teamed my service, mostly due to the limited English abilities. They were however able to speak some french, which I could understand better than German. We were able to get by with English and French and Google translate. I am vegetarian and was recommended a mushroom pasta dish which at first mention was a bit disappointing. However, it was so beautiful and even more delicious. The wine was spectacular. All wines were from a local vineyard and really great. Dessert was not a disappointment! I had the marscapone ice cream with peanut crumble and mocha cream. It wasn't too sweet...but beautiful with the sweeter white wine. Service was very good, but little things could be improved (needed to ask for a napkin). Otherwise, very professional and attentive. The price was great 37€ 2 large glasses of wine, entree and dessert. I would most definitely recommend and return.

I would say also good value for money. Certainly we recommend a visit if you find yourself in this city

Bach Mayer

We had two attempts to had lunch at Bach Mayer. First time we went there, it was gorgeous afternoon, with clear blue sky, but it rained in the morning. These guys have lovely garden, so naturally, we wanted to eat outside. We kindly asked if we could be seated in the garden, the answer was NO!! We were really upset, and the hostess showed us indoors instead, which was horrible - we could sense cigarette smoke, and air inside was really horrible, so we left. In few weeks, we were there again, and came over for too. It was a lovely day, with bunch of sunshine in the morning. They did serve in the garden. I kindly asked hostess if we could get a place in the shadow, which they had a few! But she said they all are reserved. I mentioned that we will not stay long, max 30 min. Oh well, we got seated in semi shadow, and during our whole presence, most of the tables in shadow remained unoccupied... Fazit smoky lounge, lazy personal refusing to serve few meters further away from the kitchen :( Garden was useless on a sunny day...
