Fantastic place: nice ambiance, attentive & friendly staff, DELICIOUS food with various options (including vegetarian!), all at really good prices. I was not familiar with Argentinian food & so tried a recommended entree and I think I will have to try more! Wholly recommended.

For 5 weeks, I would pass by Dulce Carbon at least 2-4 times. During the evenings, I noticed the restaurant (especially during the weekends) was full of locals.I ordered the chicken with bbq sauce and was not disappointed. Very very reasonable. If you want to eat like a local, you have to come here.

Like atmosphere off of street and food was delicious! Service was a little slow, but we were on vacation and it was Carnival, so no worries.

This review from a (TOP TA CONTRIBUTOR) is an honest representation of the OVERALL experience. Many of the places I've visited over the last few years in south america have family members involved AND present in their operation. There is NO management or ownership on site here. Therefore no co-ordination of waitstaff and kitchen. Many places will blame a "Gringo language barrier" which would be understandable if my Ecuadorian GF wasn't with me. The food was creative, fresh, and well prepared! Everthing else, especially the ENTIRE waitstaff was below average stands. As noted in other reviews, an unacceptable 2hours late afternoon (half full restaurant)Experience. TRY ANOTHER PLACE !

Delicious and quick dinner for nice price. We ordered a crepe, chicken, pasta and patai and payed with drinks 38 dollar. All kind of meals quick and friendly served. When you are looking for restaurant where everybody can choose what they want this is the place to be!

A welcome change of pace -- good selection of sushi and noodles. But what makes this place great is the service from Mario and Servio, and the mixed drinks. Highly recommended when you need a change of pace from Ecuadorian food.

We had a wonderful meal at Alto Caribe. The prices looked on the expensive side for Ecuador, but then we discovered the starter was included! Fabulous soup, and superb main course of pasta with fish, and potatoes with chicken -- subtle flavours and well presented. A very good beer too -- a genuine IPA, the best IPA I had in Ecuador. Friendly, speedy service and pleasant atmosphere too.

Our restaurant makes the perfect burrito wrapped perfectly in a flour tortilla. A simple menu but full of flavor. Have exactly what you want from chicken to pork to fresh veggies with many options of fillings. We have a vegetarian and gluten free option.
