Our special occasion destination in Richmond, La Buvette closed in August; for my birthday we looked to St Margarets' & discovered the Le Salon Prive.We enjoyed a great evening, with French ambiance, excellent service and well presented food.The menu is extensive and good value.Thank you very much for your kind review. An evening of synchronicity! Watching Robert Lindsey with Lyndsay and then finding Chez Lindsay less than ten minutes walk from the theatre! How could this fail to be a magical evening? The front of the restaurant was empty (Monday night) and there was only one party of four at the back. We were greeted as if into Lindsays own home and offered any table in the house. Service was excellent with no hint that we should hurry despite the clock nearing midnight before we left.We chose the "Menu Prix Fixe" though substituting French Onion Soup for the soup of the day. My moules as starter would have been a main course in many establishments! The Confit de Canard is to be recommended (with a glass of St Emilion) Then crepe au citron and a cheese platter. Lindsay even found a half bottle of Sauternes (and the cork) to go with the Roquefort , Bliss.

Birthday lunch booked last minute, it was a set menu with a great selection, hard to choose as everything sounded delicious, we loved our food, amazing taste and high quality, portions were a good size and the service impeccable.Cannot wait to return to this local gem!

Jean-Philippe, Kim and Jerome have run Le Petit Nantais with impeccable passion and dedication for more than 20 years, and yet they all still manage to make every visit feel like a special occasion. I went with my family today and had roast pork with honey and ginger, boudin noir and pommes puree which was amazing. Others had traditional cassoulet, and steak poivre.JP and Mrs are always delightful to chat to, and Jerome does a great job always. Even if he did forget to tell me about the Rose Veal. Thanks you Petit Nantais, and thank you JP for the wonderful piece of veal you gave me for my birthday. Another enjoyable breakfast at Cote followed by a river walk , like April 2019, very busy this time but the same level of service and quality maintained as before.
