We only tried this restaurant the day before leaving the area but found it to be very good. They do very reasonable 3 course menus and a dish of the day and dessert on weekdays for 9.50 euros. The speciality is pizzas but they also have all the other local dishes.

We arrived by chance and were given a family type welcome. A delicious glass of Burgundy and smoked salmon, cheese, capers and side salad for me while my husband enthused about the Scampi Provençal. Delightful service and traditional surroundings made for a super evening.

I had the famous dish on our first night in this area. What a feast - a big plate of veg with 5 different pork cuts on top. I gave my children some of the sausage and smoked ham and still took a big piece of meat home. Nice atmosphere in this very traditional restaurant.

Real alsatian country cuisine. The place is frequented by locals, so this is granted. Local people coming and going just for a glass of wine and a chat with the hostess.Wonderful choucroute. There was nobody around because it was winter, but it should be very very nice especially in springtime.

We were staying in the village and dined here on a Monday night (it's closed on Tuesday and Wednesday).Food is of a very high standard with excellent presentation. We had a tomato carpaccio with air dried ham, hake in a butter sauce with sauerkraut and braised pork cheeks. All were excellent with a pichet of local Riesling.Definitely worth a visit

We went here on one night because of a recommendation to try the speciality of the house which is zander cooked in a butter and garlic sauce. It's a family restaurant and this dish has been on the menu for several generations. We've never had zander but were not disappointed. The waiter filets the fish at the table for you which is a joy to watch and saves you the trouble. Because of his expertise here, you get a surprising amount of fish.

We had done 9 countries in 4 weeks, what else does one do .....make it 10 ...we were stating in Barr, France and decided in our last day to take a trip via a Ferry from France to Germany and just have lunch there. We were not disappointed. This restaurant was inviting and even though we did not have a reservation, they found us a table n a Sunday. The owner and staff were all very warm with their welcomes even though we only had one German speaking person. The menu was good, the potions large and the quality fantastic. The attendance at the table, the time to delivery of the food was quick, but not too quick not to allow us to chat. The warming plates for the vegetables was interesting, not seen them before, bit added to having food still warm when you want seconds. Price was good. Clean cutlery, nice linen table cloths....well presented food...

Gastronomic restaurant, specialising in products from the land and from nature. Many ingredients come from our own garden. We serve game from Ried and fish from the Rhine.
We visited in December and had the 12 course taster menu, although not advertised they also paired up accompanying wines with each course. The restaurant is family run, and the son of the founder is now the head chef with his wife running front of house. The decor and ambience inside is very warm, modern and welcoming, with the Christmas decorations an additional treat.Service is discrete and despite the language barrier with our limited French we worked out what each course was.The bread rolls were part of the initial table decorations and each course had a well balanced set of flavours and textures - the turbot risotto though stood out as our favourite.Be prepared for 4 dessert courses so a sweet tooth is required, although I didn't feel that I was going to burst so the portions were very good.As an added bonus the head chef took us back to our accommodation as well rather than have us call a taxi so fantastic service all around.
