I visited the anchor for the first time in June on a solo trip and returned to Scarborough with my family in September. I had told them how impressed I was with the anchor. After visiting on the 1st night of arrival they were impressed just as much as myself. My mum thoroughly enjoyed her Scampi and my dad was very happy with his sausage and chips. Brilliant food and again with no grease at all to speak of. Another 5 star review for the ever consistent and ever awesome anchor!

Went for a sit down lunch. This place is by far the best fish & chips in scarborough. The fish is superb & chips are just right. It's always busy for take out but you get your order taken when you walk in. Great friendly staff

Brilliant service from lovely staff. The food was delicious and the staff knowledgeable about ingredients. Absolutely recommend nipping in for your tea whilst in Scarborough! The mushroom and spinach pie is not to be missed, whilst the local delicacy of the Hull Pattie is beautiful too.

I first visited Pepe Verde around 2 years ago and Iâve made regular visits since. Whenever I visit the Yorkshire Coast I always make an effort to drive to Scarborough for a meal at this restaurant as the calzone is amazing, thereâs nowhere else Iâve visited in the UK that makes a calzone this good, I can only compare it to the ones Iâve had when visiting Italy. The staff are amazing, theyâre all super friendly and welcoming and they always say hi to my dog and sheâs always happy to visit with me as they usually give her a small treat. I will be continuing to make regular visits to this restaurant in the future and I encourage anyone else wanting an affordable and delicious meal to do the same.

Popped in for fish and chips on 19.10.19. We had 2 fish specials and two kids meals. We also had dessert. The meals were lovely, fresh tasty fish and crispy batter and freshly cooked chips. Kids meals excellent value for money, good size portions, a drink, and a dessert for £5. The waitress, Paige, was really busy but had a lovely smile and delivered excellent service. Highly recommend, and will be visiting again.

Ordered lightly battered haddock and chips to take out.Freshly cooked for us,absolutely perfect fish.Fresh white haddock excellant crispy batter.Didnt eat all chips but only because we were full.Didnt eat in restaurant as prefer ours on paper or in a box rather than on a plate but could see restaurant was busy.A big thankyou.
