Nine of us ate here before going to a play at Newhampton arts centre round the corner. We phoned through our order and everything was ready for us at our reserved table in the dining room. Fantastic service Jo! Then the meals - very generous portions and great chips. Three of us had the number 4 pork loin with sauce - highly recommended. Meal deal with sausage also good as was pancakes no 16 . Free Polish cake for afters which we had to take away as far too full. No meal was over £8 and that was for the steak which perhaps wasn’t the best choice - go for the pork. Would go again anytime

Went her recently on a Groupon. Limited choose, but very good value. We plan to return to choose from the chef's recommended board, which looks fabulous. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated, you feel like you are in Italy. Staff very friendly and you can park over the road for £1 or free after 7.30.

We visited here using a Groupon Voucher. The deal was 2 dine for £19.95 which included starter and main meal. Looking through the menu most of the mains had a supplement added to it. Therefore the choice was limited to fully appreciate the value of the deal. POINTLESS!! Hence my rating.I have dined here several times and the service and food never fails. Hi cheryl many thanks for your review were pleased you allways enjoy your food to put your review into prospective 2 course groupon deal for 2 £19 1 rack of lamb charge £5.951 steak charge £5.95 2 drinks £5 = £35.90 I really do believe this is still a great price youve had a 2 course meal including drinks lamb and steak for £17.95 pp for the standard of the dishes i really dont think you will find it cheaper any where else in wolverhampton

We arrived at 5.35pm and was asked if we were going to the theatre. We said yes it starts at 7pm, the pate was unavailable so we had a soup and I think it is artinya a fried rice dish. I would like to say that there was a table for 4 already in and a table finishing the meal. No other tables were occupied until after 6pm. We waited an age for it and when it came the rice was very well done and greasy. We then waited until 6.35 whenafter asking several times the fried chicken burger came with a heaped teaspoon of pink coleslaw and burnt fried potato slices at this point I cancelled my dish and we shared the very very poor burger. We were told they only had a very small fryer which may I add desperately needed the oil changing. The staff who we have always found to be pleasant just shrugged and pulled faces in front of us. Well Hungry Bistro you are one of many eating places around that area we will not be returning.Hi Jo,Thanks for your feedback. I notice you've eaten here before, if you thought the burger was "quantity over quality" why on earth would you order it again? May I ask where your reviews for your previous visits are? You, and your guest arrived at our absolute cut-off for pre theatre diners - having been told that when you were seated, it should have been relatively clear that your food would come out pretty close to the bone.We also advise people book a tables for pre-theatre and then we can advise a suitable time based on our other diners for the evening. We are not a fast food restaurant, never have been, never will be. So staring down the waiting staff will not speed you food up, it's just irritating. With regards to your paraphrasing, you were informed that as almost everyone had ordered the southern-fried chicken burger there was a slight wait on the fryer. I'm perfectly happy with the size of our fryer, as deep-fried food is not the main cuisine we sell.We found it quite petty and unnecessary when you refused the second dish for your table, as it was ready at the same time, but as I hadn't had time for lunch I did appreciate the freshly cooked fish dish. FYI, I managed to eat it with plenty of time to get to the theatre (had I have been going). However, at this point I would like to apologise for the lack of chicken liver parfait, our butcher hasn't been able to source chicken livers, ergo, we haven't been able to make any. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Regards,Richard

You get a nice friendly welcome,it is a good place to sit, our service was at a reasonable pace even though the restaurant was full by the time we left. The food divided opinion to some degree, one good starter one average, the mains were supposed to be chicken breast but there was a bone, and one was the colour of seafood sauce which was not very appealing but it did taste OK, the desert was good. The bill was reasonable for what we had, and we would definitely go back, but not for the same main.

Heard a lot about this restaurant and decided to book. The restaurant was extremely busy and we booked for early evening. When we arrived it was already full but we’re swiftly shown to our table upstairs. The table was lovely and overlooking the canal. We were told the table was only booked for two hours however we had a three course meal and no sooner was our starter taken but the main meal was arriving. Likewise with the dessert where we were asked twice before we actually ordered. This was a delay on my part to slow the meal down a little. It all seemed a little rushed for me. Our meal was ok! My lasagne in fact was really strange came out in almost like a dish full of tomato sauce. My hubby had salmon which looked really nice! Glad we went but would I be in a rush to go back probable not!
