If you donât speak or read German, I do not recommend that you eat at this restaurant. We learned the hard way that gyros in Zwickau are not the same as in the U.S. or Greece. My husband thought he was ordering basic gyros and requested them ânein zwiebelnâ â no onions. Imagine his surprise when he received a pile of gyro meat topped with an equal amount of chopped onions â with no sauce and no pita. When he reminded our waiter he didnât want onions, the waiter simply removed them to a separate plate â with his hand! I thought I was ordering a deluxe pita with feta cheese, onion, and tomato, but in fact it was some type of gyro casserole topped with melted cheese â also sans pita.The German menu may make it perfectly clear that these gyros will not have pitas, and in all possibility, what we wanted was available if we had known how to ask for it. But if you need an English translation or assistance, you will have better luck at Brauhaus Brauerei or Non solo pizza y vino.

I ate here with a business colleague last week. Despite the fact that I have been visiting Zwickau on business since 2006, I had never been here until now. I have no idea why!When you first look at the building from the outside, you know something very good lies within.The interior is tastefully understated and very well laid out... one of my pet hates is when restaurants cram in as many tables and chairs as they possibly can, then you're all sat on top of each other when you're eating and people are elbowing past you as you eat. There is no chance of this problem here.The menu is very varied and I challenge even the fussiest eater not to find something they would enjoy. I had the fillet steak with porcini mushrooms and it was cooked to absolute perfection; quite possibly one of the nicest steaks I've ever eaten! To compliment this, a chianti was recommended to us, which was very nice and the bottle was soon emptied.Considering what we ate and the outstanding quality of the food, I found the bill to be most reasonable. It certainly wasn't cheap, but it was cheaper than you would pay for a meal of similar quality back in the UK. Besides, if you can't spend your money of gorgeous food, fine wine and good surroundings, what can you spend it on?!I will certainly be visiting here again in the new year.

I have celebrated my 30th birthday at Egghead and whenever I am in Zwickau,Germany its my number One Restaurant to visit. The food is so fresh and you can see the chef while preparing your lunch/dinner. He pays attention to every detail. The staff is exceptional friendly. The food can take a while - so not recommended if you are in a hurry but other than that a perfect place for a delicious break.

We were very satisfied with the food quality. They provide an excellent tomato soup or caprese we tried almost all starters what they had on the card. We took a surf&turf steak plate for 3 person, the meat quality was excellent but all the salad what they had, had a little bit similar taste because they probably use the same aceto balsamico for them all. But it tastes great. The panna cotta was also great! The espresso was a huge disappointment, they should immediately change the machine. They have a fairly ok wine card with good local wines, but nobody can really support you in the selection, the staff has no really idea, they lack definitely of knowledge about wine. Otherwise they are nice and helpful nothing to complain about. Considering the place, that it is relatively far from any big city and not easy to get there the price is relative high. Even for this quality of food.

It had been a while since I had visited a German restaurant. For a Saturday it was pretty empty, so we were allowed to pick a nice, big table for the two of us.The order was taken promptly and the drinks came first - in huge glasses. The dish was a quite big serving of very, very tasty pork with Semmelknödel and Sauerkraut. My buddy had a big serving as well and enjoyed it quite a bit too.Staff was friendly and without a smile, which is quite normal, and they were quick too. Would go there again to get my fill of Baverian food :)

We stopped here for a quick lunch during our recent visit to Zwickau. While the place was pretty busy the service was very quick and responsive.Their pizzas are definitely to recommend.

Wir waren schon mehrfach in diesem Hotel zum Mittag- und Abendessen. Es hat jedesmal alles gepasst. Der Service ist sehr freundlich un man muss nicht lange auf sein Essen warten. Auch Sonderwünsche werden ohne Probleme erfüllt.

Zur Einkehr während einer Radtour gab es für uns einen Eisbecher und eine Eisschokolade. Das Eis im eisbecher hatte den Anschein, dass es schon länger gelagert wurde, man konnte die kleinen Eiskristalle des Kondenswasser auf der Zunge spüren. Das Getränk war sehr wässrig und wenig gesüÃt und wurde auch bemängelt. Einen Preisnachlass gab es nicht.
