Ended up there pretty much by accident. The staff are welcoming and the food combines traditional regional cuisine with some nice French-inspired twists. Had the game and a crêpe Suzette. Both excellent.

samen met mijn vrouw kwamen we tijdens een lange wandeling in het aantrekkelijke, autoluwe en schilderachtige Kronenburg terecht en namen we een lunch in dit sfeervolle (eet)café. Na eerst de trap naar boven te hebben genomen (let op, is enige manier om boven te komen!) werden we verrast door diverse bijzonder leuk, creatief ingerichte ruimtes, een prettige, persoonlijke bediening door beide eigenaren, Julia en haar man (Duitser mét humor). De (bio)drankjes waren heerlijk en zowel de zeer goed gevulde Kartoffelsuppe met worst als het stuk Kuchen met hazelnootlikeur (!) werd door ons met plezier verorberd. Een absolute aanrader, let wel op de beperkte openingstijden (we hadden geluk!), zowel qua dag als qua tijden. Er is een terras met uitzicht, echter was het daarvoor het weer niet. Nogmaals, erg leuk, verrassend en met persoonlijke uitleg over de creatieve, zichtbare, unieke bezigheden en producten van Julia en haar man. Het omrijden of omlopen waard!

Alt-Stadtkyll has a nice sitting area outside. They offer a wide variety of mainly German food and beers. The Schnitzel is excellent, especially the XXL (huge!). The food presented in pans (Paenchen) looks really nice. Maybe not for vegetarians though. You get a lot of food (and beer) for your money and there's a small and simple salad bar inside. Only downside was the slow service. There was just 1 waitress covering the entire place and it took a long time before the food was served. Other than that, great place to enjoy a huge Schnitzel!

We sat down with the four of us (didnât make a reservation on a saturdaynight) in restaurant Woods. Around 18-19u itâs quite busy but they had a table for us. The food is ok, although our medium and rare steak were both (very) well done. Pricewise itâs a friendly place to eat. Culinairy it was ok but nothing fancy and I would look elsewhere next time.

Brought my mom and her sister here to try the local food. They liked it, we ordered schnitzel for them and fried chicken set for me and hubby. With the reasonable price, you will not be disappointed

I had one of my best meals ever here! And without knowing what to expect: the menu is only in German, and the server speaks no English. One of the kitchen staff was brought to assist and she could translate the main component of each entrée so I knew I was getting pork and my spouse salmon. (The young woman was remarkably warm and friendly, by the say.) My pork was very tasty medallions--lean and perfectly prepared, accompanied by white asparagrass (lots) and potatoes. The (included) salad bar with several offerings in addition to greens made it a perfect meal. (Cucumber salad, sweet kraut, pickles were among the offerings.) The restaurant itself is charming, with off-street parking that was plenty when we arrived but full when we left. We did not have dessert but saw a remarkable piled-high strawberry sunday being delivered to the next table and were very tempted.

The service was good, a bit to strict for me. A smile makes people feel welcome. The food was good, with a excellent verity of dishes. This made choosing the dish hard, in this case it left me wondering if there was a better option. However tasty that my dish was, it just missed something. However the pizza that somebody else ordered had that little bit extra. That tasted great. As a desert I ordered the holy grail of german deserts âvanilleeis mit heiÃen himbeerenâ. Warm raspberryâs with vanilla ice. However the sauce was not hot enough, and there where ice flakes in the vanilla ice. This lowered my experience, however the sauce was great. Often you get the frozen Raspberries, but this was the real deal. However because of these flaws this was spoiled a bit. But these a point that they can work on. But Iâm nitpicking, great experience, and would come again when Iâm in the neighborhood. Also very cheap. 8 euro's for a pizza.
