We stayed in Orbetello in August and went to Porto Santo Stefano on 2 occasions. We found the Marco Polo and loved everything about it. The location by the waterfront is stunning with great views over the harbour and loads to watch!The restaurant has a real family feel to it and the food was fresh, home made and delicious.We enjoyed it so much on our second visit we went back and had an equally lovely lunch. The Tiramisu is to die for!!!Highly recommended

What more could you ask for. Siting at a table meters from the bay water on a perfect 21c sunny day. Parked near the front door for free and now a glass of Prosecco in my hand. Pure bliss.We ordered the fried fish from the trawler and two expensive pasta dishes. My wife's was spaghetti with bottarga and mine spaghetti with bottarga and vongole. The fried fish was very tasty.The first thing I noticed with my pasta dish was the bottarga covered the vongole shells so I had to use the spaghetti to remove it otherwise there would have been very little to eat. The vongole I was told was local as it looked different but was fresh and flavoursome. My wife's pasta dish had to much chilli for her even though it was not mentioned on the menu. We swapped pasta because even though mine had chilli it was alot less so she was able to finish her meal.We ordered the pear torta which was good. As to the rent being high, we for the first time in 6 weeks in total of being in Italy were charged a service fee. This was on top of the 6⬠coperti and the additional 9⬠fee I'm sure helped to pay off the rent.

Booked a table for a Saturday night and when we arrived there was some confusion but the restaurant sorted our table out. It is just outside the bustle of Porto Santo Stefano and has really nice views out to sea. Unfortunately there were only two waiting staff and it suffered a bit from this. They were absolutely run off their feet. I had the Vongole as a starter and half the clams hadn't opened so were left untouched. Nobody queried why. My steak was done spot on. At no time did the waiting staff have time to ask if you enjoyed your meal, needed a drink etc. So maybe better when there are more staff.

Unico posto a Porto Santo Stefano, dove puoi mangiare bene, essere servito meglio ancora, senza essere spennati! Vario e lodevole il menù dove puoi spaziare, dalla pizza agli hamburger, passando per la pizza o un bel tagliere senza dimenticare l'ottima frittura mista! Tutto dinottima qualità . Il locale non mi sembra abbia tavoli all'interno ma solo bei tavolini all'aperto dove poter conversare tranqulli godendosi la brezza! Se siete all'Argentario fateci un salto! Un Brave alle ragazze del servizio ai tavoli!

We loved everything about this place.beautiful view and nice table settings. I will return for the ravioli with Mozzarella and black Truffles. So good! We had the house wine and were surprised by the quality. The restaurant is family run and the pride is reflected in the food, service and atmosphere. Recommended for couples like us, one fish lover and one no! Very nice selection of dishes on the menu and we enjoyed everything .

We had a Saturday dinner (Feb16) at La Bussola. Great food, simple, homemade, fresh. Low season at Porto San Stefano, so we were only foreigners among other customers. Local families, couples, friends, - wonderful cozy atmosphere, it seems all people know each other. Very welcoming hosts, smiling, attentive. Highly recommended!

We were warmly welcomed and given a free room upgrade when we arrived to stay the one night. We also booked a table at the on sight restaurant.At dinner we were welcomed by the professional maitre d`and knew straight away we were in for a unique meal experience. We were seated immediately and the service got better and better each minute we were there. We put our self in the hands of an experienced sommelier for the wine and we had a taster menu which was excellent. It was wow from beginning to the end. One of the best meal experiences we have ever had.
