Fascinating Laguna, offering splendid views. The fishermen of Orbetello organise boat trips on the Laguna, really worthwhile. Currently, there is a problem with fish dying as a consequence of high temperatures though.

Riva del Marchese

The beach is hidden in a small bay which makes it both harder to access yet also not so crowded and cozy. It provides all standard services and equipment, however there's no free shower (token only), toilets are kind of provisional and smelly. What is nice is that the terraces are covered with grass, which makes it pleasant to walk around. Unfortunately the access to the sea is rather full of stones which makes it harder to enter and exit the sea.

Very nice peculiar small beach! Most definitely worth a visit when you're in the area. Don't forget to bring lots of water and wear comfortable shoes!
Maybe try avoiding the most crowded days, as it is very small. Keep in mind that there's no services whatsoever, so bring your own sunshade if needed.

The Spanish Fortress (in Italian - la Fortezza Spagnola) is a coastal fortification, which is situated in the upper part of Porto Santo Stefano. The fortress was built by the Spanish between the16th and 17th centuries. You should take some scales up to arrive there. The fortress is ruined, but inside there is a museum, with exhibition space dedicated to archeological findings discovered in the glassy sea overlooking the Maremma coast.
Full ticket costs 2 Euro, reduced (for children from 6 till 12 years, groups of 15 people) - 1 Euro. Children under the age of 6 years - entrance is free of charge.

Forte Stella sits above Porto Ercole on the southeast corner of Monte Argentario. It has nice views but not a lot else. If you're nearby it makes sense to visit if you have time but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. You can get similar views from the road that goes around the south side of Monte Argentario (see photos).

Cala La Cacciarella

Mare fantastico, limpido e pulito.

Having completed more than 500 dives I consider myself a reasonably good judge on the qualities of a good dive centre. Argentario Divers certainly appear to meet these. Unfortunately due to a head cold I was unable to actually descend into the blue azure waters but instead went snorkeling. The dive boat is spacious and well organized. Looking at the rental equipment that other divers used, it all appeared to be in good condition and well maintained. The boat crew were knowledgeable and professional and everything ran smoothly.
The snorkeling was good, visibility was 40m+ - ok its not like the Red Sea or the Philippines with regards to marina life, but there is still plenty to sea. For those that enjoy a bit of free diving there are lots of nice swim throughs at the sites. Constant supply of coffee, soft drinks and biscuits were welcomed. The meal served towards the end of the trip also was a welcome site as well as a couple of glasses of vino.
Thoroughly recommend these guys for snorkeling or diving.
