Nördlingen is a town in the Donau-Ries district, in Swabia, Bavaria, Germany, with a population of approximately 19,190. It was first mentioned in recorded history in 898, and in 1998 the town celebrated its 1100th anniversary. The town was the location of two battles during the Thirty Years' War, which took place between 1618–1648. Today it is one of only three towns in Germany that still has a completely established city wall, the other two being Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Dinkelsbühl.

The restaurant is located in the oldest building in Nördlingen and was one of the places recommended by the tourist office. We were surprised when we entered the restaurant as it looked quite old, wasn't very large and wasn't inviting. Nevertheless, we opted to stay because we were really tired from walking.The restaurant serves traditional German dishes with a lot of meat. For a restaurant which looked like it did, I thought the prices were on the high side. The menu was very large for a small restaurant. The restaurant prides itself on making everything fresh.I opted to try a special sausage dish made of pork from pigs fed on acorns, thereby giving the meat a special flavor. This was served with boiled and then sautéed potatoes and stir-fried vegetables. My friend ordered pan-fried blood sausage served with pan-fried potatoes and a side salad.As my sausage was really salty, I couldn't taste the difference between regular pork and acorn-fed pork. The veggies were a bit greasy and the only thing I enjoyed were the potatoes. My friends dish just looked like one black mess but she kept saying that it was delicious. I'm not sure if she said that out of politeness or not cos it was her decision to eat here.The portions are big - I suppose that makes for the higher prices but who needs to eat so much. We did leave the restaurant stuffed but I don't think a revisit will be necessary. Perhaps some of the other dishes are better but we'll never know.

Located just outside Baldinger Gate in city wall. Modernist glazed extension to an old mansion* with large terraced area. Contemporary décor and easy chairs. Relaxed ambience. Excellent food and prompt service. April to June is white asparagus season and they have this as âSpecialsâ with pork medallions or steak.*Postfix âââ¦leâ is a local diminutive and hence âSchlossleâ literally translates as âLittle Castleâ.

While visiting family, wanted to take them out for dinner. Eichendorfstuble was recommended as a favorite for the food quality, portion size and value. What a find! Along with their excellent entre's, their house salad was excellent. Arnold and Karin own and operate this neighborhood pub and take good care of their patrons. Eight adults and 1 child ate and drank their fine bier for 90 euros. Prima!Nordlingen is an historic city on the Germany's Romantic Road. It was pointed out that the prices were so good because the Stuble is located outside the city walls. Restaurants inside the well maintaIned and charming walled city charge more for their food as you would expect. This is one of those places the locals patronize for all the reasons noted above. Located in the old corn exchange building in the middle of town. Good ambience inside and outside tables when the weather is fair. Good selection of pasta and pizza at very reasonable prices. Laid back Italian staff so do not expect fast service. Not just for tourists as locals dine here so speaks for itself.

I went here while I was travelling with work. The food was excellent. There were three of us eating all meals look great and everyone loved their choice. There was loads to eat. I wished I known about this restaurant the first time I travelled to the area. Next time I travel there I will return.

We came to visit Meyers Keller to present our spanish niece and her boyfriend with some excellent example of traditional dishes cooked at the highest level and Meyers Keller turned out have been an excellent choice indeed. We greatly enjoyed all of our dishes which included a starter of home made culatello then mains of Maultaschen, Wiener Schnitzel, Krautwickel and Schwäbischer Rostbraten followed with a dessert for 4 of Kaiserschmarrn. Evereything was prepared very very well indeed. Service was a delight. We will most certainly return.

We had dinner in the beer garden. Very busy with a friendly crowd of locals visitors. I had schnitzel with boiled potatoes and it was fine and the portions were enormous. Not high class but good homely food in a lively setting.

Again, A bit surprised by the raving TA reviews. Other than cute decor everything about this played shrieked mediocre - from the food selection to the food quality. Very bland, simple pizza and pasta, ok hamburgers (they forgot the cheese and never brought it). But the worst part, the lovely server was left in her own at lunch time rush on a Saturday and a meal that should have taken less than an hour took 2.5 hours!!!!!!! My little girls both had serious meltdowns while waiting for food. We would have left but everything was either packed or only open for dinner. Definitely give this one a miss.

We found this place while exploring the town, and made reservations to come back that evening for dinner. This place is very popular with locals, so we are very glad we made those reservations. It's very charming and modern-looking, the food was excellent, and our server, Yvonne, was outstanding. They don't have a translated menu (which is fine-we enjoy trying to decipher what we can), and Yvonne helped by translating every dish on the menu for us. She was very helpful, kind, and fun. This place was a one-of -a kind experience.

We stopped here for a dinner and the staff could not have been more helpful and efficient. We had Gemusegratin which was wonderful and looking at other diners food, everyone seemed to be very happy with their choice and have to say the portions were plentiful.
