We visited this restaurant in September 2017. What a great place with welcoming, warm and happy staff. Nice menu with a lots of choices and for the vine lovers the selection is outstanding. We love the setting right in the park and next the little lake. The food is to die for I wish that I could try everything on the menu. Even with the restaurant being fairly busy the service was swift. Im pretty sure that we will return to Malsch and to the Restaurant Am Buensee. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed. Special thanks to chef Bobby and his wife Nicole to finding a time and visit our table. Thank you!

Kaiser

The usual German fare cooked to perfection. Large portions, almost too much to eat at one sitting. Only problem is that it is a small restaurant and gets filled quickly, both inside and outside. Not open every day. Opens at 3 pm so it is not a luncheon place.

Rimmelsbacher Hof

This "Gasthaus" does not offer accommodation. The word "Gasthaus" in German generally means a pub or restaurant. This one is set in a small village with fine views on two sides over a valley and the more distant hills. There is a large terrace which in the summer must be well used, and I think on a warm sunny Saturday in October, it would have been very busy at lunch time. However we arrived for the sunset which was very good so sat on the terrace. Our drinks order was taken quickly and arrrived, we had to wait a little longer to place a food order and it was nearly one hour before the main meal arrived. The cook must have had a busy lunch service and gone to lie down. There were some specials and a slightly longer menu than is some comparable places. I chose veal, which is not often offered in the UK. One of my dining companions had Maultauche - a local vegetarian speciality - like a German ravioli - which was good, another was watching her weight and went for a salad, and finally the last member of the party had turkey breast with pommes frites. The food was good and tasty, but it was getting chilly on the terrace,The gasthaus, rather quirkily, does provide blankets for those who sit outside. However by the time we had finished our meal the warm and cosy interior of the restaurant looked a lot more inviting. Go for the views - I would think either in the summer, or a warm spring or autumn lunchtime. The sunset was nice.
