The castle is situated between two lakes, surrounded by a wooded area. All the dining rooms are very nice. The service is quite professional. The quality of the food is quite good and the arrangement for the drink is very generous so you get value for your money. You do not need to stay in the close hotel but if you decide to do so, you won't need to appoint a "Bob" for driving back home!

I visited here with my family for lunch. The staff were particularly welcoming, and helped us with ordering from a menu written in Dutch. Then, once weâd ordered, the food just kept coming! They were great with our children. I would definitely be returning here - thank you

Came here on a sunny evening and it was the only place with a terrace in the sun on the market square of Torhout. Sat down on the terrace that look fine. Chose some drinks and looked further in the menu if we would find something nice to eat. In the meanwhile we noticed that the woman who ruled the place was not so friendly to the customers and her staff. But we were hungry and sat nicely in the sun so we ordered both a platter of Norwegian smoked fish. Our apperitive was nearly finished so we asked 2 glasses of wine to accompany our dinner. The Norwegian smoked platter came and had on it: 2 slices of smoked salmon, 2 slices of smoked halibut, a few grey shrimps (not fresh ones), 1 rose of broccoli, 2 slices of tomato and a little bit of salad. This was a very small platter. Luckily we had chips to fill our stumachs. Then I wanted to use the bathroom and went inside the place. What a suprise was that: a lot of broken tiles in the floor filled up with cement, the painting needed to be renewed, it was very noisy because of the open kitchen, it looked more like a cafeteria in a hospital than like a restaurant. The toilets: the soapbotle was almost empty and allready diluted with water, so not much of soap in it to wash Your hands... This place needs a whole renovation and a new boss.
