Donegal Town is a fairytale of a place, featuring a charming harbor, serene beaches and stoic stone remains of centuries past, like those of 15th-century Donegal Abbey. Stern-looking Donegal Castle, recently restored to its one-time Gaelic glory, is the crown jewel of the area. If you’re looking for souvenirs, snag a hand-woven tweed or carpet, the signature goods of the area. For a good craic, the pubs of The Diamond area are a sure bet.

A very nice surprise to stumble across this fairly newly opened (July) restaurant.Located through the foyer of the Central Hotel on the Diamond. We were guided down to the restaurant.Very light and spacious, with plenty of elbow room between tables. Our selections were the Mexican burger (my choice) fish and chips, veggie burger and the chowder as a main.No complaints, only compliments over each dish, everything fresh and local - the meaty burger just melted in the mouth, the fish, my wife's choice, was "the best I've had in years" likewise the other two dishes were equally enjoyed. We do feel that, with a few adjustments, the restaurant would be worthy of the 5th star. Chunky chip choice, a bun for the veggie burger and full size soft drinks ('mixer' size bottles were served)Otherwise - highly recommended.

During a recent visit to Donegal Town, I happened to stumble across Blazers Burger Bar and Grill located at Central Hotel on the Diamond. I found the atmosphere homely, cosy and most welcoming. The staff was most courteous, very friendly and went out their way, not only to prepare your meal, but to make your day. I ordered a Veggie burger and was pleasantly surprise at the super preparation and taste. For those visiting Donegal town, I highly recommend you experience Blazers.

Went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch. Group consisted of three adults and one 11 year old. Three course lunch menu €13.99 per adult and €6.99 per child under 12 years. When I had finished my dish the plate was lifted even though the others were still eating. Did they need the plate for other customers or did they want to get us in and out quickly? This made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. I was then charged the adult price for the 11 year old as the waiter did not specify that it was a child's portion. She did get the full portion but only ate less than half of it. As I was leaving the owner was clearing our table so I mentioned to him that I was charged an adult price for the11 year old. He said if it is ordered as a child's portion I will refund you. I waited a few minutes but he did not return to advise me either way. I know that it must have been recorded as an adult portion but it would have been professional and business like for him to say so. I as a customer fell more of a nuisance as the staff's friendliness does not appear genuine. Definitely not a venue I would care to visit again.
