Had dinner here with friends on recommendation, we were not disappointed! Food is very well presented with a fantastic choice for all tastes all served in lovely surroundings by friendly helpful staff. The restaurant is busy which is a good sign, but food is plentiful and all fresh, topped up on going. Prawns, etc all cooked to order, everyone found them delicious. We will definately make a return visit soon Prices are reasonable considering the choice and quality of the food..

Me and my family have being comming here for many years regular customer my granddaughter goes there every week after school they do a lunch till 2pm means you can order till 2pm only 2off walked in the owner said l close in 15mins not welcome feeling she said you have to eat before 2pm eat fast l said no l have gone past restaurant on many days customers still eating at 2.30 we are regular so unwelcome can't believe she was like this she even said take away so she could still get the payment she should have a word with herself disappointedHi Angela, thank you for writing to us. As a regular customer coming here we value your visits, however you always knew we close at 2pm and if you wanted to be seated to have lunch we open at 12pm. Yes on some occasions we do have customers sitting over our closing time enjoying a longer lunch perhaps, usually finishing their dessert or a tea/coffee. We are not able to have a customer to come just before 2pm closing time to sit in and order. We will and have always and still do offer a take away service if we can not provide you a seated service. We hope we can see you again soon and if it is for lunch, just remember to come in a little earlier so you have time to order, sit down and enjoy lunch. Kind regards, B&D's.

Decided to try as the Yu our usual take away is closed on a Tuesday. Ordered salt and chilli chicken wings, chicken in capital sauce and beef and tomato. Everything was completely tasteless and watery, carrots like rubber bands as was the beef! Two mouthfuls each and the whole lot went in the bin. Never again. Avoid!!! Will be shut before long.

In theory two very different dishes, but both swimming in the same brown gravy. One dish had tasteless chicken with an odd, and disconcerting, jelly-like texture. The prawns in the other dish seemed to be cooked ok. A good chinese meal should have the individual flavours of all ingredients freshly cooked. Here, both dishes were dominated by the same stale taste of that brown gravy. Neither of us wanted to eat the strange chicken, and after a few forkfulls, we both agreed to bin the Chinese and resort to frozen pizza.Clearly, won't be back!

Eat from here every week at least once. Staff very friendly, meal always well prepared and delivered promptly. Never had a single complaint. Portions more than ample. Best take away in Penicuik easily

this takeaway has changed hands so many times ,,, my head is spinning !!I always go to this takeaway ,,,, hoping it will get better ,,, but alas no !!the service remains excellent ,,, but the food is not the same, the chicken and beef are of low quality and no amount of sauce ( which all tastes the same, just different colours) will cover it up ,,, but I suppose each to their own. Will I go back ?? .... probably, when I have had too many !!

Polite, kind and so very helpful on the phone plus top quality food. Excellent, fresh and always tasty. Sometimes we have our order delivered which is usually prompt and when possible we collect. Either way, we have never had a bad experience with this first class restaurant, Tonight, we placed a particularly large order for 13 of us yet our food was prepared and ready for uplift within half an hour. Everyone was most impressed with the quality, flavoursome Chinese dishes and the excellent value. I cannot recommend this top class establishment enough. It stands head and shoulders above all other Chinese restaurants/takeaways in our areacand beyond.
