Judging by other reviews I looked forward to visiting this restaurant but 10 minutes into the experience I began to wonder if this was the same place others had visited. For a start white tiled floors and wooden chairs make a noise like nails on a blackboard, only louder, and every movement of customers evoked a high pitched screech. Good clean layout, nice tablecloths it looked welcoming. The first hint of a problem came with the wine order. An Italian red would take 15 minutes we were told. Upon querying why this should be we were told that they had to warm it in the oven as the restaurant was cold and did not have any heating. One course of good appetizers had been devoured before the wine appeared. However, heating wine in an oven brings its own problems. The cork shattered as the waitress tried vainly to remove it showering pieces into my colleagues glass and the resulting flotsam was not attractive. ' Would that be OK?' we were asked, No it definitely would not. Another bottle would take another 15 minutes in the oven so we settled for a beer and a white wine. The main courses were good and bad. The prawns good, outnumbered by the chunks of pineapple but tasty. The duck szechuan in an iron pot was not good, tasting more like beef. The waiter looked puzzled that my colleague did not like it and had left most of it untouched, declaring they would all taste it back in the kitchen to check. On to desserts, the banana fritter had a batter that was far too thick and not crisp, the lemon sorbet was tasty. The food is not cheap and rice is extra which I found most annoying. Most good restaurants include steamed or fried rice with the main dish but this place charges extra. They also have some Thai dishes on the menu but it might be better if they did one or the other and concentrated on that cuisine. The takeaway was busy but that intrudes into the restaurant and the tiled floor adds to the noise. It may have been an off night, it does happen but putting wine in an oven to warm it does not endear me to this place. I eat a lot of Chinese food all over the world and I am sorry to say this is not among the best.

Have got several takeaways from this restaurant, really nice food. Very reasonable in price. We always collect so unsure if they do deliveries. Would recommend this place. Always get order right and food hot.
