In the Gourmetstube Einhorn our chef Peter Girtler creates exclusive sensations for the palate whereas in the Gasthofstube Stafler old South Tyrolean recipes are combined with ideas from modern Italian cuisine, resulting in deliciously original creations.

We stayed here one night on the way home and we enjoyed our stay very much.Although we came for the Einhorn restaurant the rooms in the hotel, the garden, the sauna and especially the service of the staff we appreciated highly. The hotel price is very reasonable when compared with e.g. the center of Merano where we stayed in two hotels. From 15 to 17 hrs there is free tea and coffee with sweets. The breakfast in the morning is great, eggs in any form you wish, fruit, cakes, cheeses, meat, espresso/cappuccino, tea, juice, very complete! What made a nice surprise was that when we just finished our breakfast we got a small birthday cake (the staff had noticed from my passport that it was my birthday): it tasted delicious. The two star restaurant Einhorn is worth it's rating. Two menus to choose from (or the combination of both) and superb wines accompanying the dishes. We had an enjoyable evening.We will probably go back during our next holiday in the area.Dear guest,thank you that you take the time to write such a fantastic valuation about our hotel. Home made pasta dishes are a highlight. Portions are huge for appetizers so definitely share. Main course was the right size. A good glass of haus wine completes a nice stop over from Italy to Austria. All for a very reasonable price.

Dopo un tragitto di una mezzoretta di cammino ecco la malga. Paesaggio stupendo, ci accomodiamo con semplicità ad un tavolo con lo lâesibizione dell spettacolo naturale sotto ed intorno a noi. Cibo e birra biologico, ottimo tutto.

Down to Earth good food and local beers at very competitive prices. It was relatively empty when we were there which was a shame but perfect if you just want good food (and happen to be staying 2 mins away in the excellent Goldener Löwe!).

We go more often to take some pastry with home or to eat for the midday meal. Every time perfect! The choice of the cakes and small pastry is so numerous the the owner had to put a second glassbox. The service is fast. The midday menu is really tasty and exquisite. For ca. 11 Euro you become a small salad and a plate with 2 different dishes for the main course. The place were the restaurant is situated is perfectly restored and has a historical flair.

We've visited this 'Austrian-Tiroler-Italian' restaurant twice during our vacation in Italy. It is located outside the small town of Vipiteno but it can be reached easily by car. The atmosphere is snuggy and reminds us of a German restaurant, but then again, Vipiteno (Sterzing as the locals would say) is situated in the German-speaking part of Italy, Südtirol. The dished that we've had (Knödel soups, pasta, pizza, Schnitzel) were all tasty in big portions. Albeit it was far from being haute cuisine, the prices were very reasonable so was the fair service. Based on our experience, Thuinerwaldele is a place you can visit without hesitation. Good restaurant!

Strolling around Vipiteno/Sterzing, I spotted this bar with tables outside and managed to get the last one. Delicious local wines by the glass - one to be had perusing the menu, and a second with the fantastic burrata and local tomatoes.Finding myself nearby again the following day, I headed straight back there for lunch. Burrata and local tomatoes again. Just as delicious, but very different tomatoes, obviously that day's fresh delivery.Recommended.
