Jp's Pita

We visited this place since it is near hotel and well reported on at tripadvisor. We found the owner to be friendly and outgoing, offering superior service. The food was acceptable, pita large with lots of lettuce. Price was competitive. I would rate the food as ok, I am not sure I would go back, perhaps eating pita grows on you.

Sunrise Griddle is a breakfast favourite. Great prices for a hearty start to the day. Service is friendly and prompt. This place is hopping so you may have to wait for a seat,. The other thing I love about this small, back to basics, restaurant is their support and involvement in the community. Delicious food and an extensive menu.

That's My Spot

Family owned and operated. Friendly, neighbourhood eatery.

The place is very busy at supper time on the weekends but it is worth the wait. Fast, efficient service seems to be their priority. The menu has a very good selection that caters to all ages. The food is very tasty and large servings at a reasonable price. Very friendly service. Not a place for a quiet dinner as the atmosphere is quite lively with lots of tv screens around the room. There are a few booths for more privacy if needed. I would recommend this place.

Just met up with my old Hydro buddies for a golf day while the wives went shopping. The weather killed the golf so my pals said its food day instead. We went to their favorite mid-town eatery. On entering they asked if Charlene was available, she was and I saw why, what a great worker. I had a great cheeseburger and super fries, my two buddies both had all-day breakfasts which were so good. We all got a hug on leaving, part of the service apparently. Parking is close by but only free on weekends and evenings.

We were meeting family off the GO train and wanted somewhere for lunch before we headed home to Cobourg. I had been given a tip off about the place by a friend. It is a cosy little place, offering break, lunch and probably coffee in between. Our party had soups. Mine was a delicious and obviously made there Thai chicken soup. Then I had the sandwich special of the day, grilled cheese with bacon and a berry jam. And it worked! The rest of the party were happy with their meals too. I bought some of their home made chutneys - very good - and some of their really good short reads and ginger snaps. The only disappointment was the frozen Moroccan vegetable stew, which I took home. Rather watery, and not enough flavouring for me.If you are trying to find the resto, note that although the address is 50 King St. E, it is actually on the north west corner of King and Division.

Olde Tyme Fish & Chips

Our light battered whole fish halibut, cod, haddock, and fresh cut fries are the best in Clarington.

This small, family-operated eatery seems rather non-descript, but we were taken with the quality of the food. The halibut portions were quite ample, and were coated with a perfect light and crispy batter that is exactly what this fish demands. The service was friendly and attentive, and the price was quite fair. This is definitely recommended.

This is a great family restaurant lots of good selection and food is very good. Staff are great and get people seated as quickly as possible. Don't really like their closed in patio area.

Courteous, professional, and highly knowledgeable answered all our questions and made some great suggestions. We had the fried bocconcini to start and a glass of their house wine. Both red and white were nice and not pricey. Mains we had butter chicken Mac and cheese as well as buttermilk fried chicken. Very flavourful and great portions. We were full and even had leftovers for the next night. A real gem and great ambiance!

Got takeout with the family, jerk chicken and yams and salt fish with plantains and the mango salad. Interior seemed very spacious and clean. Chicken was nicely spicy, saltfish was delicious, and the plantains were amazing. Only complaint is the mango salad, which was completely different from what was pictured. they showed a mango and tomato salad w some chickpeas compared to the 80% chickpeas with maybe 10 thin slices of unripe mango we got... Thanks for making it Starapples and for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed the Jerk Chicken and Saltfish. Our mango salad does not have tomatoes. Mango strips and chickpeas are tossed with bell peppers, red onions and cilantro. The salad doesn't use fully ripe mangoes as they would be too soft. I'm sorry you weren't happy with it and we hope when you come in next time, you'll try something else on us!
