We had midday snacks in Soul Kitchen twice during our stay. First time as very nice, but not outstanding. Had Iced Coffee and Ginger Lemonade, which were both lovely, with some hand made 'fresh' Lemon Cake on waitress recommendation. Drinks were lovely, cake was very stale. My wife is an exceptional cake maker and has catering qualifications and has for years made designer cakes for friends and family. She said with confidence that it was several days old even allowing for the climate. Second time we just had drinks and my coffee was burnt, bitter tasting, like it was the bottom of the pot. I complained and got the same second time as well. I didn't both moaning again.thank you.

Melek Anne was very close to our holiday villa and during our 10 day stay we visited several times. We always received a very warm welcome from the family. The village breakfast was a huge array, a feast including hand made borek, fresh bread, cheeses, salad and home made jams like pomegranate, delicious. We tried the fish and other home-made dishes at lunch and were always pleased with those. The view of the rock tombs from the terrace was unparalleled and a couple of times we were visited by a local loggerhead turtle swimming up to the dock. The bill was always very reasonable and excellent value. We got very attached to the Melek Anne cafe!

Dined here twice, two weeks apart and the experiences could not have been more different.Visit One: Five of us dined early evening, before heading back to Didim. Had a fabulous Pomegranate Mojito made with 'fresh' cloudy pomegranate juice and fabulous food, served by friendly helpful staff. Service was nicely paced, so no rush and a lovely relaxing dining experience - just like we had had on a previous visit.Visit Two: Three of us dined, again early evening before our drive back to Didim. Once again I ordered the Pomegranate Mojito, but the drink I was presented with was made with cheap, clear pomegranate and was very unpleasant. When I challenged this I was told that it was as it should be - I persisted in my protest, so in the end one of the staff took it back to the bar, tipped into a larger glass and added a splash of the cloudy juice. I could still taste the cheap pomegranate and there simply hadn't been enough time for a new cocktail to have been made anyway. Knowing full well that I STILL hadn't received what is on the menu and what I had ordered, in the end I had to make and outright demand for the drink be replaced. And what do you know, after all that hassle I actually received what I should have been served in the first place. On top of this, we were only halfway through our first course, before they appeared with our main courses, when we pointed out we weren't ready for our main courses, we were told it wasn't a problem and the waiter just pushed things out of the way and dumped the plates in the middle of the table! All very disappointing, given that we were returning here having had such good experiences on previous visits. As a customer, I do not appreciate being treated as a fool and the fiasco with the cocktail left me very annoyed and we were definitely being rushed by the speed of the service. Really is difficult to understand how such a huge contrast in experiences could happen with visits so close together. I'd give this restaurant one more try, but at present could not wholeheartedly recommend to others, following the frustratingly inept service experienced on this most recent visit. I will say though, that they serve possible the best calamari I have had anywhere. We will take your concerns seriously, the staff are sometimes rushing with the speed of service. They are trained regularly on service quality but nevertheless inconveniences happen. Thank you for the positive comments as well. All the best .
