Stumbled upon by chance and the place was full. Local beer and well kept. It was steak night and I’m always a bit wary. This was absolutely superb. Perfectly cooked, sides which are extra but again executed well. The cost was bang on and listening to people book for again for the same week speak volumes. The staff were friendly and helpful. Exactly what a pub should be. Thank you chef.

We arrived at the hotel, we had booked three rooms, two deluxe doubles and the suite. Everyone in the hotel was friendly and helpful. The rooms were great, very large with very comfortable beds and an excellent bathroom with double sink, shower and bath and at all times wonderful hot water. We had a wonderful view of the sea and even though it was too cold to sit on the balcony we enjoyed watching the surf on the sea and the ebb and flow of the tides. Unfortunately for us, as I mentioned before the weather was not kind to us, so the outside terrace seating for the bar could not be used. So it did tend to get quite crowded in the bar in the evening, however we used the smaller bar at the rear and just took our drinks in there. The reception staff were quite happy for us to use the smaller bar and made sure in was cosy and the music was turned on low. We had booked for bed, breakfast and evening meal. Breakfast were lovely, every combination you could possibly want was there. For the evening meal we found them particularly obliging, allowing us too ask in advance for meals not listed on their menu. As we had a two and a half year old with our party, they were really helpful and even when the restaurant was fully booked they would serve her very quickly, the rest of us were quite willing to wait our turn. We were made to feel part of the family. It was a very enjoyable stay.

We love the Widemouth Bay Cafe, especially for breakfast. The ‘Breakfast Stack’ is one of the most yummy things you can have for breakfast!!!! They have seating both inside and out, fast, friendly, fun staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Food quality was high and portion sizes generous. Along with reasonable prices, what’s not to love.

The Coffee Pot

We went there back in 2011 and although meant to go back, hadn't got round to it until this weekend. My score then was 3 stars - now 5 stars! My partner has a broken leg, and this place is convenient as you can park right outside. We chose a table outside as it was a nice sunny day and only wanted tea/coffee and a snack. We were quickly attended with a menu and I chose a bagel with bacon and cream cheese and a coffee. The bagel I expected was just that - but when it arrived it came complete with a basket of chips and a side salad - far more than I wanted or expected for the price. And it was lovely! So, the service was efficient, the food and drinks were fine and the location (at the top of the high street) is good. And for the money, it is excellent - what more do you wanrt?

We decided on Elements for our end of holiday treat dinner and what a great decision.Lovely welcome and a coffee while we waited for our table.Only gripe was unruly children running about and parents not controlling them, very rude but they soon went thank goodness!Maybe staff could ask them to control them or stop children under 10 eating at night, sorry to moan but it started to spoil a nice evening, we would never allow our children to behave like that. Several other tables exchanged the same disproving looks.Anyway moan over, the food, simply wonderful. We had garlic bread to start, nice and soft. For mains we had pizza, and pasta dishes all cooked to perfection and the presentation and taste were just so good.Ice cream to finish which again the flavours were something else.A really good Italian with friendly attentive staff, outside heated seating area we didn't use otherwise I would have been asleep!Deserving of a high rating, nice modern Italian twist.

Dropped into Bude just a little before 8pm on a Saturday evening, looking for a decent meal of good quality. The Deck, The Olive Tree and popular others were full: some, even not taking orders after 8pm!!!Almost next door to The Deck is the oddly named Sazerac, and "Wow!" what a really good, well-presented meal we had. Their restaurant does not cram-in its tables or "milk" diners & holiday makers, but offers a limited menu (always a promising sign!!) and I really chose well: Cornish Clams as a divine "Starter" followed by a beautifully presented Veal, repleat with veal liver, smoked bacon and a wonderful jus.It appears to be part of the Atlantic Hotel.Loved it. Determined to return, especially as it's an easy drive from mid-Devon.Obviously, a talented Chef, but also a very good, young, polite Maitre D' and a good waitress.Well done!
