Arrived early afternoon on a sunday with my partner, the staff were brilliant and the food was incredible, I read reviews before hand and people had complained about price for food, well I can vouch that the food is worth every penny and it is a beautiful pub, we even installed trip advisor just to leave this review! Amazing well done!!! Highly recommend! I had the chilli con carne and my partner had the lasagne! 10/10 in our ratings and we will be back!

Had a great meal here. Had the pea soup as starter , fantastic. My daughter had the fish soup fantastic too . Curried monkfish main course was really tasty. Good wine selection. Friendly staff. Let us bring our dog to sit with us. More than happy to go again Delighted that you all enjoyed your lunch - and your dog was so well behaved I don't think any guests even realised she was in the restaurant.Thank you for your lovely review and I hope we may see you again.

Came here for Sunday lunch and it was super. Staff attentive and always happy to help. Lovely pub, and something we needed in Cinderford. I am sad to see the in the windows it says closed for refurb?? How long will it be before this pub is up and running? What a shame.

Come back to my home town often to catch up with relatives and friends. Not really many good places to do this in, but have to say The Woodlands is a delight. Fresh, modern interior with good selection of food, all of which looked delicious. The selection of cakes is amazing and can be taken away. One friend says the Sunday lunch is very good. Definitely a place to revisit.

Sunday 18th AugustWe hadnât booked and it was incredibly busy so had to wait a good half hour to eat. That wasnât a problem for us since we had turned up on spec. However, although we were accommodated, it was done with very little grace. This attitude seemed to permeate most of the waiting staff in The Orangery today which blighted a family get together with my parents and sister and brother-in-Law whom we seldom get to see as we live near Bournemouth. (They live local to Speech House). The food was delicious but the coffee served to my sister in a cafetière was like dish water. This was replaced, However, when my sister commented that this was the third visit she has made of late where the coffee has been undrinkably weak the waitress displayed complete disinterest. Hopefully, todayâs service was a blip due to circumstances unknown to us. I would have marked this between a four and a five but for the horrendous service. A smile costs nothing !!! I think this is the first time my husband has not left a tip for the waiting staff. Dear anna_Rebecca_B,Many thanks for taking time to leave a review on your recent visit to us at the Speech House. Please accept my apologies for my late reply as I have been out of the UK and just returned.I am disappointed to read that you had poor service on your visit and that there was an issue with the coffee. I will take your comments up with my Front of House Operations Manager at our next meeting. My team are usually very efficient and friendly as can be seen from the previous reviews. On the positive side I am delighted to read that you all found the food delicious.I can only apologise for the poor service you received and ask that you give us another chance to prove that we offer caring friendly service. Please rest assured we take all comments seriously and use them for training purposes.Thank you once again.Peter HandsDirector/Proprietor.

Stopped here for a cream tea on our walk. Wonderfully friendly greeting for us and our dogs from both human and canine owners. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic cream tea and excellent service. Everything including help getting back to our campsite exceeded our expectations. Not to be missed!

Eating out is invariably a special occasion, an opportunity to talk in a peaceful setting. One of the most famous tea parties was that of the Mad Hatter and this extract is apropos Mad Hatter: What's the matter my dear, don't you care for tea? Alice Kings

Been going here for the milkshakes as long as i can remember but as moved away i thought id finally get around to eriting something. Its a good stop off for when you get off the bus or just finished shopping. The food isnt amazing but most small cafes arent...the milkshakes are really good and the staff are lovely. Wouldnt try asking for a job in there as they are a family knit group and will say theyd reply but wait 3 weeks until you ask for a reply and then reject you. But they are nice hard workers but thats all for that.

Best of British food served in a Grade II Special Listed building (1500s). Lots of old world character. Seasonal seating outside. Located next to the Gloucester Cathedral main gates. The Comfy Pew is also licensed and serves a selection of local beer, cra
We came here after visiting the Cathedral and ordered drinks and sandwiches. The drinks came quite quickly but we waited for the sandwiches, and we waited... It was explained to us that there was only one chef there, but still 45 minutes for two sandwiches was quite a while. The food was lovely though and the service very friendly. We must have been busy. Apologies for the delay. I'm glad you enjoyed the food and service. Thank you!
