Bexhill-on-Sea (often simply Bexhill) is a seaside town situated in the county of East Sussex in South East England. An ancient town and part of the local-government district of Rother, Bexhill is home to a number of archaeological sites, a Manor House in the Old Town, an abundance of Edwardian and Victorian architecture, and the famous De La Warr Pavilion: today a centre for contemporary art – which has featured the work of Andy Warhol, Cerith Wyn Evans and Richard Wilson amongst others – and an auditorium, where Bob Marley had his first UK appearance and has since seen performances by Elvis Costello, Goldfrapp, Ray Davies, Years and Years, Pati Smith and Lauri Anderson.

Often walked past and kept in mind, eventually met up with a friend for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Tables are well spaced so feel private, service was quick without being intrusive, food was great, generous portions and nicely cooked. Competitive prices. Lovely quiet atmosphere to catch up for a chat. Manager very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend and will return.

Called in yesterday with my husband. Didnât want a big meal so we ordered the mixed Ploughmanâs and a Pork, stuffing and apple sandwich on a baguette.. Food arrived after waiting longer than expected for the very simple food ordered, plus it wasnât busy. Ploughmanâs looked lovely. The smell of mine wasnât very nice. I open my sandwich to find what I can only call disgusting . The meat looked like supermarket pre packed pork wafer thin slices that had clearly been microwaved! It was dark, shrivelled and full of fat. It really was disgusting. I called the owner over( tall very slim lady) and showed her. She looked in astonishment and apologised stating she would re new it. I requested I didnât want the same and I would have the same mixed ploughmanâs as my husband., and pay the difference. She said she wouldnât charge me anymore. I waited once again a while longer. When the food arrived, there was a tiny piece of cheese and no coleslaw. The pickled onions were dark brown and slimy. I ate what I could and left the rest. The lady came over once I had finished and asked if everything was ok with the replacement. I told her about items missing so she said she would discount our bill too. When we paid the bill, as well as only charging for a pork sandwich instead of a ploughmanâs, and then giving a 30% discount, this makes me wonder how they survive. Yes, financially it was to our advantage( although our lunchtime treat was a disadvantage with the disappointment of the quality of food served) This pub looks great from the outside, very â with it â and welcoming. Inside is old, the toilets were dirty and had a musty smell, tables were wiped down with a dry cloth and spray bottle. Not your good old fashioned clean soapy water, hence why the table mats stuck to the sticky dirty tables. This pub could be so much more with dedicated owners and staff with a passion to serve good quality food and cleanliness. Unfortunately, I wonât be going again

I love shabby chic, and it does feel so chilled here. More expensive here but the ambiance is good. Gets busy at weekends on nice evenings, but a good place to meet.

Came here to have a seaside lunch on a sunny Thursday. Amazing food, amazing service and such friendly staff. Myself and my father both had the Salmon fish cakes and they were simply divine! I would definitely recommend this restaurant. So so tasty and I will be coming here again.

Our friends came down at the weekend and wanted to come to blueberries again. They love the quality of the food, itâs so clean and service is exceptional.Well all had something different and it was served hot and to our requirements. The owner has a lovely manner, good sense of humour and itâs just felt nice.

Great place, interestingly decorated with loads of ânick- nacksâ! Lunch was really tasty- my sister had the special which was oxtail soup and I had the eggs benedict with hand cut gammon. Service friendly and efficient with food cooked to order. Great atmosphere - well worth a visit!

We came across this little cafe during a rain storm. It looked like any other greasy spoon from the outside but did the most amazing Thai food. The lady serving/cooking said she was Thai so obvious knew what she was doing. The selection is quite small, about 3 starters and 5 main courses but was plenty enough to choose from as we could anything with King Prawn ,chicken or vegetarianDear Thai Foodie, Thanks for your kind words. We will be adding additional items to the Thai menu soon but if there is anything you would like to see included please let us know. We can make the food as spicy or mild as you like.
