Kaunas (/ˈkaʊnəs/; Lithuanian: [ˈkɐʊˑnɐs] ( listen); also see other names) is the second-largest city in Lithuania and has historically been a leading centre of Lithuanian economic, academic, and cultural life. Kaunas was the biggest city and the centre of a county in Trakai Municipality of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania since 1413. In the Russian Empire, it was the capital of the Kaunas Governorate from 1843 to 1915. It served as temporary capital of Lithuania during the interwar period, while the traditional capital of Vilnius was part of Poland between 1920 and 1939. During that period Kaunas has been nicknamed the Little Paris because of rich cultural and academic life, fashion, construction of countless Art Deco, Lithuanian National Romanticism architectural style buildings as well as popular furniture, interior design of the time and widespread café culture. The city interwar architecture is regarded as one of the finest examples of the European Art Deco and received the European Heritage Label, it also resulted in naming Kaunas the first city in Central and Eastern Europe as a UNESCO City of Design. In 2022, Kaunas will be the European Capital of Culture, together with the Luxembourgish city of Esch-sur-Alzette.

15 people reserved a table with prepayement. When we came to the restaurant, a security did not one of us come in saying "You wont come in here today". The person was nice and sober. Cant imagine what was the reason. Because of such situation we all had to get out and look after another restaurant to spend time. Dont recomend!

We three middle aged British guys are on a three week tour of the Baltic States, ten years after our original tour to see the changes.After a late Wednesday meal on Skliautanas we left at 23.30 and most of the Main drag bars were closing. We headed off the drag towards the river and found this cider bar. We do not like cider but hoped beer would be sold too.We peered into the cellar bar through the windows, it appeared empty. Someone left into the street and I asked if it was busy, he said yes people were in. We entered timidly as a group left and yes there were people. The guy we asked came back in and went behind the bar.I asked about the beers, four on draught and a few bottles, great. Stout included. Prices a bit more than usual. We ordered a draught kriek (â¬2.5), draught white/wheat (â¬2.5) and a bottled stout (â¬2.7). I asked if they were 33cl and the guy said yes.To our surprise they came and they were 400cl and the stout was 500cl! We were happy. Kick boxing in the large HD LED and quiet easy music aided the conversation.All in a good late night hangout with youngish crowd. We left at 12:30 quite happy.

I heared some good reviews about this place and decided to check it out myself. I went there with my daughter and we orderd 2 hot dogs, one with pickeld cucumbers and one with Chimi-churi sauce. First of all I was suprised that on friday evening there were no visitors. If food is really good there should be some people, right? Anyway, we took a table outside. When we received our order everything looked nice, but it was just a good presentation and nothing more. So I took a picture and tried my hotdog. It suposed to be angus hot dog, but to me it was just a regular sausage, nothing special, it really didint taste like beef. The bun was also very simple, just a white bun. The sauce tasted a bit strange. My daughter didin't like her hot dod aswell. I guess I was expecting a hot dog with a gourmet taste but this was belove avarage. It will help fill you up, but nothing more.You can get much better hotbdog at gas station and it will cost twice cheaper.As in New Radicals song said âyou get what you giveâ. Take a look to the sky and think again about your opinion. Cheers ;)

We visited in September and picked the Grill London. It doesn't look that enticing, but once your food comes, all is forgotten. For around 8⬠I had the best steak I think I've ever had. Really couldn't fault it. The cocktails were good too.

The atmosphere in this place, which attracts mainly young people, is dominated by the pop-video screens all over the place. If you like or don't mind this, and if the sound level happens to be moderate, Pas Stanley is a viable option for a meal or a drink. The quality of the dishes, which are nothing fancy, is quite good, and the prices affordable. Service is attentive and prompt.Not the place for a romantic dinner or a long philosophical discussion, but very satisfactory for a quick, decent meal.

We Went bere for dinner. We choose 2 soupa super tasty. Bruschetta and super good fried bread. Better meal lithuanian potatos with mushroom. Good also tortilla.With 2 big beers we payd only 29 â¬.But blond waiter with glasses was super rude. We did the brewery tour, guide's english was very good as was his explanation of beer and the brewery history as well as beer making process. The snacks were very good as was dinner afterwards. Highly recommend
