Kaunas was the biggest city and the centre of a county in Trakai Municipality of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania since 1413. In the Russian Empire, it was the capital of the Kaunas Governorate from 1843 to 1915. It served as temporary capital of Lithuania during the interwar period, while the traditional capital of Vilnius was part of Poland between 1920 and 1939. During that period Kaunas has been nicknamed the Little Paris because of rich cultural and academic life, fashion, construction of countless Art Deco, Lithuanian National Romanticism architectural style buildings as well as popular furniture, interior design of the time and widespread café culture. The city interwar architecture is regarded as one of the finest examples of the European Art Deco and received the European Heritage Label, it also resulted in naming Kaunas the first city in Central and Eastern Europe as a UNESCO City of Design. In 2022, Kaunas will be the European Capital of Culture, together with the Luxembourgish city of Esch-sur-Alzette.

I'm a local resident in Kaunas and when Baking Mad opened it became our favorite place for burgers. I declared this place to have best burgers in Kaunas. However, I haven't visited it for a long period of time and oh boy how it changed. Firstly, my favorite burger was gone (R.I.P. Cheesy pinkman). Now they have something similar but it's not the same as it's used to be. The buns became soggy and the meat patty overcooked.And secondly, DIRTY! The tables are literally oily! Teach your waiters to clean the tables after they take away the dishes... The floor and the walls had dirt on them as well. I'm not picky but it's just sad that my old favorite place became a place that I don't want to go to anymore... I wish good luck and to become as good as you were in the beginning.

My partner, myself, and a group of friends have just returned from a long weekend in Kaunas, where we enjoyed a visit to Bar Klimas.We popped in there around 10pm, after ariving and checking into our hotel, and were pleasantly surprised with the choice of beers on offer. There were also a good range of beer snacks to soak up the beer.The staff were very informative and helpful in assisting us choose the type of beers we enjoy, so definitely worth a visit if you're a beer lover in Kaunas!

we had great decision to visit this place. Actually, I asked for my husband because I have never visited this place in Kaunas :) So, we had some time waiting at queu, but we got nice table near the window. waitress was nice and suggested some great meals. So, we had two lemonades (orange and grenadine) for my boys, potatoes for my child (he eat everything :), and Anneta snack that was not so spicy as was mentioned :)My husband ordered ribs HENRY with onion rings, I ordered Lilian - soft and not spicy, some turkey, some seafood, some rise with spinachio :) I loved your homemade jam. All was really delicious, maybe my expectations were bigger for this place, do not know. Thank you.

Loads to choose from, menu is huge so something for everyone. Portions are huge but they do offer you a box to take away any left overs. Cocktails were nice and plenty of choice. Deffo recommend this as a casual friendly restaurant for an enjoyable night

This review has been written after a bunch of visits in this place.. each time expecting that it can not be that good.. something should go wrong.. but i have to admit- place delivers really good food..1. Location: not in old town.. thus parking is available.. i had no issues to park the car. Parking: available (free of charge). Place itself is in old house, well reconstructed.. lot of interesting things to observe.. 2. Type of the place, Food: EUROPEAN... this is a place for a quick lunch or for longer stay. You will find several beer sorts, wines and some strong drinks. Size: 20+ tables which makes mid size restaurant (with outdoor terrace).3.Service: usually it is 3 waiters, 1 at the bar and several in the kitchen.. good in english...4. Prices: average in Lithuaninan standards, Average- in European standard...5. FOOD Quality and portions: everything fresh and made without any compromises.. either it is lunch meals or from meniu..My recommendation would be to rely on the waiter as regards LUNCH..6. INTERIOR: i made several photos.... there are some very fine elements worth of attention.. 7. Clean or not? Yes, this place is clean.. theoretically could be cleaner, but I would say sufficient. WC in a good shape..8. Value: 9 out of 10... for those who clearly knows the purpose of the visit, like lunch.. You can clearly count to spent up to 10Euros for lunch which is very reasonable price level. 9. TIPS: - you should try to get the table near the bar or in terrace.. 2nd floor is also of interest.- meals: i liked cold soups, vegetarian food, pastas are also very well prepared..
