Came here with two friends for lunch. 2 of us had the steak which was cooked to how we ordered and arrived fresh and hot. One of us ate the halloumi and chips which she also thoroughly enjoyed. Service very friendly and professional and all in all very good value for money! Will definitely be returning. Nice ambience to the place and drinks served how they should be. Lovely outside eating area too to enjoy a drink in the sunshine.Thank you for your kind review. Weâre glad your enjoyed your meal. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.

Went here for lunch today. Its a local place we have never tried. Not very busy, but very good service and hot food. We had the mixed grill( generous portion) and rib eye steak as mains. The ribeye steak was cooked just right although the ribeye was a bit more fatty than I prefer but for the money pretty good. Friendly staff. Not loads of room in the car park which could be an issue on a busy day. Several unusual choices for pudding, my pyramid of chocolate was lovely! spoilt for choice will have to come again to try the rest.Hi Roangirl, thank you so much for your positive comments about Station!

We turned up on Tuesday lunchtime, and they were not too busy. The staff are friendly and smart. the food is tasty, but not all meals are very large for the price. I had prawn and crab linguine with chorizo; there were only 4 or 5 prawns and the bowl was just about half full -- more linguine and prawns could have been provided. The roast chicken was more than sufficient and cooked well, very moist. Extra halloumi was provided uppn request for the avocado, chicken and bacon salad, but for an extra £3. The vegetarian tomato and almond bake was tasty. The coffees were all lukewarm. The creme brulee was small and in a cup. The small coconut macaroons served with the coffees were delicious. Cost £102 for four, including tips, no alcohol.Hi Jack, Thank you for visiting and leaving us your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your visit and hope next time we can WOW you more with our food. We are having a makeover very shortly and will reopen on October 12th. Whilst we are closed our front of house staff and chefs will be getting some extra training and when we do reopen we will have an updated menu. We've had the opportunity to dine here twice with family while visiting the area with the recent one during the May bank holiday weekend.On both occasions we were all served with excellent plates of food from the great range of food on their menu and all of generous portion size.The staff are friendly and are helpful when querying anything on their food or drinks menu.Well worth a visit for lunch or dinner.

went for dinner.... the staff were friendly, and helpfull..... the food was ok ,,, i had panfried chicken which was moist and the veg was cooked well the ,,, potatoes were cold though!! ,,... partner had steak , asked for it medium! .. more like rare .(picture attached)... it wasnt a bad meak but wasnt amazing ... room for improvement... the dessert menu was limited !!........

Great place to come in with friends and family. Food is generally quite quick and good value for money. Good for gluten-free, used to be able to do gluten free chips too, however on last visit they weren't able to. Good staff, last time was welcomed by Jodie and Sophie who were very helpful. Sophie was able to tell me other meals that could be adapted to be gluten free off the main menu! Had lunch with a freind as the location was good for us both.Service was very prompt and attentive. Food arrived in good time and was and nicely cooked and pressented. The Queens Head has to be my favoured local restaurant, being about 100 metres from my front door.However, about 3 years ago, I had 3-4 consecutive bad experiences (cold food [not salad], wrong dishes delivered and lousy service). I stopped visiting and moved my preference down the road.About three months my circumstances changed meaning that I would eat out every evening. I chose to return to the Queens Head and do not regret the decision one tiny little bit. The new landlord and his staff are a different breed. They are very keen to please and work extremely hard at busy times.The food and selection has also improved immensely. For example Mussels and Scallops are now regularly available and very well cooked/prepared.So all in all I am able to thoroughly recommend this quaint Pub.

We are regulars here and for a treat I took my children mid week. My youngest had the chicken on the childrenâs menu and loved it. It is so much better when your family enjoy the experience! For me it was the best visit we had in years. The menu seemed better and the staff were great. I had a burger which did not stay on the plate long. We did not book but were there early and the place got busy so it may be advised. My wife and I called for an early evening meal and we couldnât have been more impressed. Everything from the friendly welcome , the service and the selection and quality of the food were excellent. One small tip : try & avoid table next to the rear door which gets a lot of use. We wouldnât hesitate to recommend the Fox & Hounds and will certainly be returning very soon. Give it a try
