After a day of hiking this was a great place for beers and a nice pub meal. The fish tacos are fantastic. A special shout out to our Bar man and servers Darnell, Jackie and Shaun you guys made our evening so enjoyable... you guys are great!! Working hard but still made time for us. Thank you so much.

The food is more-or-less pub-style and "average" and there is an excellent selection of beverages (disclosure: Am not much of a pub-food person to begin with).Big drawing card is the outdoors patio with "fire pit". Great for "people-watching" but that night was also the retro music festival, with a band playing right in front of the patio - great evening / night.Service from Alex (?) was excellent, friendly and cheerful :)BerndWilliams Lake, BC

With my parents visiting from overseas, we had a 1 night stopover in Sun Peaks. My parents decided to grab a beer each, whilst they waited for my partner and I to arrive downstairs. When arriving at the restaurant, my Dad had just asked for the bill. Having been involved within the hospitality industry for many years, and not to mention, living in Canada for 4, I understand the gratuity complex. My parents, though new, were well aware of what was expected (Even if it was not always earnt). The server had placed the bill on the table, and as walking off, she notifies us that she has included the max gratuity as she can see that we were from out of town (Funnily enough, she was not local). This was unacceptable, and for 2 beers, not necessary. After this comment, my Dad left no tip, and we cancelled our dinner plans there for the evening. Needless to say, we will not return, nor recommend this bar to anyone. I understand, and have experienced it first hand when someone that is not familiar with tipping culture does not tip. Maybe the server should stop thinking about the tip she expects, and start working hard to earn it.

We were attracted to this place a few days earlier due to the large crowd gathered there, so thought we'd try it. Ordered the fish and chips to the tune of $19 and were sorely disappointed. The tartar sauce wasn't even recognizable and coleslaw just the same. Fish was cold and tasted "funny". Had to walk out and try another place. Don't go
