What to do and see in Zurich, Canton of Zurich: The Best Tours

October 19, 2021 Milan Banda

The largest city in Switzerland is a major contemporary art and shopping destination. Important artworks are displayed in the Kunsthaus and the Rietberg Museum, while those who consider shopping an art can hone their skills along Bahnhofstrasse and Niederdorf. Chagall's stained glass windows in the Fraumunster amaze and Zurich's 500 clubs and bars, including several in swimming pools, pulse with life 'til the early hours. This city on Lake Zurich has excellent public transit and a free bike rental system.

Zurich has a beautiful, historic old town. Many of the buildings are several hundred years old. In small, private groups, we, two local residents, will guide you for about two hours through winding alleys and cosy squares, right across the old town on both sides of the Limmat river. We will visit places where you can feel the rich history of the city and which can only be reached via special access.

Inclusions: Local guide

Exclusions: Food and drinks, unless specified, All Fees and Taxes

Small group tour, we were the only ones on this one, offers you a personal experience. Got to see things that we would definitely not have seen without a guide. Got to see ancient roman walls, fresco and Roman bath, none available from the street. Local knowledge and information was very interesting and informative. Well worth doing.

The location of the facility is quite convenient - a minute of walk from the tram stop and around 5 mins from the main train station. Friendly personnel, cozy environment, coffee and tea included. I had a flight on B777 simulator for the first time in my life with very friendly and professional instructor - informative theoretical course in the beginning, clear explanations on what to do in the "cabin" and unforgettable experience from the flight itself. Definitely I would recommend to try this experience to anyone.

Many people like to drink wine. Unfortunately, very few people know what to focus on with their nose and palate to even guess what's in the glass! This is exactly what we would like to introduce to you in this setup tasting. They leave the cellar with a whole new attitude to crying. Just one example ... where does the red color in red wine come from? Can you make white wine from red wine grapes? etc.....

Inclusions: Wine, liqueur, spumante, frizante, water, antipasti, snacks ... etc

The tour was really better than I expected, the guide was very knowledgable, social and fun, I enjoyed my time with him. The cable car near Zürich was really interesting and the views from up top were also magnificent, I think it's one of the best tours you can do compared to the price! Completely worth it.

We took the tour on August 25, 2020 and it turned out to be an excellent way of seeing Zurich, particularly the old town, the area around the Grossmünster, etc. The weather was nice, so there was no need for warm clothes. The drive was friendly, spoke good English and made some interesting comments. If you are a first time visitor - I am not but there were two of us - I highly recommend this Tour. One criticism : they charge you an additional CHF 19 for dropping you off less than a mile away from the railway station upon your return and that is probably a bit excessive. i asked and got a drop off at Sihlstrasse but the additional charge was a bit unwarranted.

Very Excellent tour with guide Greg, he’s extremely informative and patient! A couple missed to exit the ferry and he went onboard to pick them. Misfortune happened as the ferry left with 3 of them onboard. He quickly contacted one of the tour members and assured us he will return in subsequent ferry. He made it back and continued our tour, even extending it to ensure we cover the tour in an unhurried and pleasant manner. Memorable trip!

During a short stay in Zurich we took a two hour city tour with headphone commentary (due to the virus there we no tour guides available). For us, at two hours the tour was just about the right length and the commentary was interesting and informative with a narrative that extended to both the city and national relevance. A word about the driver - he was friendly and just about the best bus/ coach driver I have ever experienced. He navigated the often narrow streets and turnings superbly and was courteous to other drivers and pedestrians. Whilst we thought this was quite an expensive tour, (most things in Zurich are quite expensive), we did very much enjoy it and would certainly recommend it.....
