I contacted Travel China Guide to help me arrange a private airport to train station transfer, train tickets between Kunming and Dali, and a 3-day solo custom private tour that included Lijiang, Xizhou, Shihgu, Yuhu, Shuhe, Baisha, Shaxi, and Tiger Leaping Gorge. Doris Chang was my contact and she was a star from the get-go: responsive, patient, professional, and thorough. Our pre-trip planning email communication was seamless. Once in China, we communicated by WeChat. Mike, my English-speaking airport to train transfer guide in Kunming was also great. Mike was friendly, professional, and made sure I got on the right train. Kevin was my Dali-based guide who took me around Xizhuo, Shaxi, and the Shizhonshan Grottoes. Alice, my Lijiang-based guide, took me around Lijiang, Yuhu, Shuhe, Shigu, and Tiger Leaping Gorge. Kevin and Alice were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. My private driver was also excellent. Travel China Guide delivered excellent, trouble-free service. I spent 8 days in the company of Sunny from ScheduleNGo on a tour of southern Yunnan province. Visiting such places as the Stone Forest, the World Heritage listed rice paddies of Honghe, tea plantations and the Water Splashing Festival. Sunny was very attentive, informative and a safe driver. Very well versed in the cultural and geographic features of every place we visited. Knew all the best little local restaurants and street food hang outs. Also tailored my trip to make sure my personal interest (Pu-Ehr tea) was catered to I can't wait to do another tour with ScheduleNGo. Highly recommend this company!

This is a highly recommended tour from south central China. It covers the amazing red soil slopes to the north of Kunming. It is an easy 3-hour drive to the area. Expect to see the red soils of the area with the what the farmers provide with crops. Green in the early season, reds and browns as they grow and are harvested. Peak is early spring and late summer, but high summer can be good too. Guides and driver are part of the package. Guide really knew the area. Expect sunset and sunrise locations - and hope for the right conditions from nature. A great way to spend two days.

Don't bother with pre-booking tickets. I was there in October 2019. I presented my passport at the ticket booth and was provided an entry ticket free of charge, along with a free sub-ticket for another section of the complex. And there was no line-up either. The same thing at the Summer Palace. Completely free as a foreigner. Only locals have to pay to get in. At the Forbidden City, the entry was not free but reduced from the regular ticket prices.

Best tour guide ever!! Ronner explained all the details of the city, the Great Wall, and the Summer Palace to us. He was so helpful to consider our requests, and we got to change the original program a little bit. When went to eat authentic Peking Duck, which was probably the best we've ever had in our life. If I ever come back here, I'd definitely book with this company again.

Dali City, located in the western part of Yunnan Province, is the prefecture-level administrative capital of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture. Dali City is located in the Erhai Plain, the foot of Cangshan Mountain and the shore of Erhai Lake on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It is the capital of Nanzhao and Dali in ancient times. As the political, economic and cultural center of ancient Yunnan, it lasted for more than 500 years. The average temperature is 14degrees it’s a sunshine city but it’s also called windy city, while in summer not hot and winter not cold and all the year is pleasant. During the two days we will arrange your trip to hike at Cangshan Mountain along with the Dali old town, which is a really fantastic day, also we will arrange a day trip to Xizhou market, Erhai lake cruise, and three Pagodas which is another beautiful day, hope you will enjoy the 2 days trip in Dali.

I had booked this private tour with Viator (written confirmation, with date, time, hotel name and pick-up). The operator/guide never showed up, and couldn’t be reached on the designated phone number, despite several tries. Neither I nor Viator could reach them. An hour later they returned my calls and said “I don’t think we have any tours planned today.” (Viator has refunded the tour-cost.)
