Get an eyeful of traditional Chinese architecture in Ngong Ping village, then take the tram to the tippity-top of Victoria Peak for unparalleled views. Kennedy Town

Love Kennedy town, such a dynamic atmosphere with many shops, bars and restaurants. Streets are also way cleaner than other areas in HK. Whatever you're looking for, KT has it. Great mix community between expats and locals, and super convenient thanks to the MTR.

Art Lane

Reviewed By Mairwen1

What a fun find this is. Some years ago this cluster of lanes between Queen’s Rd West and Des Voeux Road West was turned into an art zone. High-rise buildings, flights of stairs, empty walls were all targets for an eclectic set of murals. Over the years more and more have been added and there are now over 20 murals by 17 different local and international artists. Some of the original murals are a little faded but the new ones absolutely pop off the walls. A multi-coloured, two-storey high close-up of Bruce Lee by the French artist, Ceet Fouad, is immediately eye-catching. Another wall covered in comical fat rounded baby chicks is full of whimsy. Children will love it. There are woodland scenes, geometric bees, bold vibrant messages, balloons, flowers and dancers. It is a little off the beaten tracks for most tourists but it’s not very far from Central and is easy to get to. It’s a 25 min walk or you can get the MTR to Sai Ying Pun (exit B3). The other attraction here is the up-and-coming foodie area centred around First, Second, Third and High Streets which have an ever-growing number of great bars and restaurants, linked by an outdoor escalator.

This is the oldest post office in Hong Kong. The building rightly will be preserved. Inside it has the old equipment used and still being used. The fans on the ceiling ,tables and chairs it could be a scene from Casablanca. I'm glad this will never be pulled down or used for tacky shops.

This is a little hidden gem, the old temple possibly in the entire world devoted to a master carpenter. It's close to the University of Hong Kong. Going down the C exit escalator at HKU station, walk toward the opposite direction, and soon you'll find signposted stairs going down to the temple.

Wan Chai Heritage Trail

Reviewed By grlav8r777 - Mankato, United States

Looking for some exercise? Take Wan Chai Gap "road" ( it's really a trail with no cars) up to the top or stop midway and rest your legs and head either direction on the flat trail that traverses the mountain. Lots of runners, walkers, tai chi-ers, and pet walkers. Fantastic views all over. It's In the jungle so it's shaded mostly but it's a sporty hike to get up there from the Wan Chai area. If you are looking for a quiet, aggressive hike, head up and over Wan Chai Gap to Aberdeen Country Park on the south side. Miles and miles of hilly terrain trails, reservoirs and beautiful waterfalls to see. A great way to get out of the city on foot.
