Tullys Bar

Tully's is a traditional pub which offers a relaxed atmosphere. The ceól and seisiún are great - they attract a lot of local musical talent. Always a good pint and a fun time at Tully's.

Slish Wood

Reviewed By Munchin22 - Tullamore, Ireland

An amazing forest walk, with babbling brooks, small stream waterfalls, an array of wild flowers and birds singing all the way around. Takes approximately 50 minutes to go around and runners are fine but there are a few spots that are a little rough. The path follows the coast of Lough Gill temporarily and then goes in through the forest. Let your imagination go wild, plenty of fairy hide outs and seats around the way. There is a large car park area with a lovely river running by and a few picnic benches, so pack a lunch. You can also divert onto another walk to Culleentra Wood and the Isle of Inisfree from here, again a beautiful forest walk then it develops into a boardwalk. There are a few stiles which our dogs found awkward as they are big dogs, but apart from that absolutely breath taking views of Lough Gill, The Sleeping Giant and Inisfree. We really enjoyed our walk here, so give yourselves a few hours as it is not a place you can rush. Enjoy

We had an amazing morning with Adrienne! One of our favourite activities from our holiday. The canoeing was great fun and very soothing and Adrienne was an excellent guide who told us a lot about local nature, folklore and history. I couldn’t really fault anything about it. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and it was one of the nicest, most chilled out days we had. I’d highly recommend.

Mount Falcon Falconry

Reviewed By TjeerdHoek - Haarlem, The Netherlands

We were fortunate to do the Hawk walk with falconer/bird caretaker Izabela who was simply amazing, showed great love and respect for the birds, and demonstrated an endearing way of interacting with the birds whilst providing us with a ton of information. The entire event was very up-close and personal - we did have a small group of just 3 people - and very different from a typical raptor/bird of prey show where you see the birds do tricks from a distance. We got to hold the birds - falcons, several different species of owls, and American hawks - on the glove regularly, pet them, feed them, and look them in the eye. It was absolutely spectacular. Izabela regularly encouraged questions or would check if we had been able to take enough photos, being a perfect and professional host whilst never losing sight of the birds. She was very clear about what was about to happen, explaining notable differences between the behaviors of the bird species, with clear instructions on how to behave and not startle the birds. We first spent a lot of time with the falcon, and different owls in the falconry itself, and then went for a walk through the woods with an American hawk, much as if we were out hunting as a pack with this majestic bird. she’d fly from branch to glove, and now and then run alongside us over the ground, looking exactly like a miniature velociraptor on the hunt. We were completely delighted getting so close to these beautiful birds, and very impressed with Izabela - looking smashing in her full falconer gear. We definitely recommend this unique treat to everyone!
