Delsjon

My 11yo son and I followed Bohusleden to and through Delsjön Nature Reserve. What a beautiful area. There are many seperate trails that can be followed, as well as Bohusleden. The main paths are well marked and even surfaced. There are countless places to sit and ejoy the review around the lake, or to take swim and cool off. There is even a beach area and a wonderful place to fika (Kaffestugan Lyckan). In this same area you will also find bathrooms, fresh water and places to rent a canoe, or go fishing. There are several rest areas around the lake where you can have a picnic. This area is great for anyone who wants to be out for just a short walk, or spend the day.

Dalslands Kanal AB

There is something magical about the Dalsland canal and it is not only the surrounding stunningly beautiful nature that will enthrall you. The most astonishing thing is that although it takes you between Vänern and the mysterious Lake Stora Lee in northern Dalsland the canal itself is only a few kilometers long. The secret lies in Dalsland’s unusual topography. The last ice age created many long deep rift lakes and made Dalsland Sweden’s most lake-rich landscape. Making good use of these, only 12 km of the 250 km stretch of the canal system had to be dug or dynamited to link up these deep, clear lakes to a single waterway.
