Turkey (Turkish: Türkiye [ˈtyɾcije]), officially the Republic of Turkey (Turkish: Türkiye Cumhuriyeti [ˈtyɾcije d͡ʒumˈhuɾijeti] ( listen)), is a transcontinental country in Eurasia, mainly in Anatolia in Western Asia, with a smaller portion on the Balkan peninsula in Southeast Europe. Turkey is bordered by eight countries with Greece and Bulgaria to the northwest; Georgia to the northeast; Armenia, the Azerbaijan and Iran to the east; and Iraq and Syria to the south. The country is encircled by seas on three sides with the Aegean Sea to the west, the Black Sea to the north, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. The Bosphorus, the Sea of Marmara, and the Dardanelles, which together form the Turkish Straits, divide Thrace and Anatolia and separate Europe and Asia. Ankara is the capital while Istanbul is the country's largest city and main cultural and commercial centre, classified as a leading global city.

Goreme National Park

We visited Goreme in Oktober 2019. It was part of our honeymoon trip and we are still sad because we didnt spent at least couple days more at this magical place. We have heard about is before we came, we saw photos and videos, but believe me you cannot describe how beautiful this place is. It is perfect in September or October to visit since during the summer it is too hot. You can stay at cave hotels, visit open air museum, take one of the tours to visit couple more villages and underground cities and learn more about their tradition, culture and history of course. Prepare yourself to wake up early in the morning and visit Point of View place (ask locals) about directions and enjoy the view over the valley lighten by morning sun and hot air ballons.

Gallipoli National Park

Gallipoli was the site of a major battle in World War I and this peninsula, part of the Dardanelles, is still remembered as a major defeat for the Allied Forces—and a springboard for the future Turkish leader Mustafa Kemal. The beautiful, quiet park is dotted with memorials and other features; it is the site of a big annual memorial for the thousands of Australian and New Zealand forces who died here.

This was a very moving place. It is an extremely beautiful peninsula and yet so much suffering took place there once upon a time. It is a beautiful memorial to the Ottoman and Australian soldiers that fought here and died. It is now a peaceful and beautiful memorial.

Goreme Tarihi Milli Parki

A wonderful experience BUT it would have been helpful if a step ladder was provided to help people into the basket. the basket is very high and there are two tiny holes to put your foot into but was too small to get my shoe into. The basket is divided into five sections the biggest naturally for the pilot/ driver there were five people squeesed into each of the other four sections twenty people in total and we were like sardines and could barely move. in my opinion four people to each section would be sufficient. The take off and landing were wonderful and the views from the balloon were marvellous looking down on very high mountains villages fairy chimneys farms etc. it was a terrific experience and would highly recommend it.

Koprulu Kanyon Milli Parki

East of Anatlaya you'll find the clear and beautiful river Köprü. Shortly after Beskonak is the starting point of the canyon and a white water rafting tour. Two Roman bridges mark the beginning. The canyon is 14k meters long.

This national park can be visited at any time of year. In the summer or Spring you can go canoeing and whitewater rafting. If you do not want to go on a tour then just drive to the park and you can easily find other independent people looking to split the cost and go rafting. The price will include all the equipment, bringing you back to the start and lunch. I can highly recommend doing this! If you are not so active there are amazing views, picnic spots and lovely walks a long the river. There are two Roman bridges which should not be missed. The scenery is particularly spectacular in autumn with all the different colors of the leaves.

Dilek National Park

Reviewed By 316myat - Chelmsford, United Kingdom

I didn’t have enough time to visit this park per se, but took a boat trip which sailEd along the coast of this national park , docking at 3 points or rather 3 coves that are not accessible by car . The hills were beautiful , seeing the trees looking lush along the slopes is really quite something. The coves we docked at ( crudely speaking ) enabled the tourist to jump into the crystal clear water and it was absolutely stunning , the view , the experience and the water !! The beaches at the coves we docked on were stone beaches , they weren’t sandy. But still a really good experience and I recommend you give it a try whether it be by boat or via going into the national park itself for the whole day.

I have stayed at Boyuyuk Abant Hotel located in this natural park, with my sister in Mid November 2020. The place is so beautiful especially in Autumn and worth visiting but it gets extremely cold as well (sometimes down to 4 or 3 c in the evening!) and u get to see the autumn foil of the forrests with magnificent color variations!
