Flowers everywhere. Kept clean and maintained very well. This do have a few displays to look at. One of the items on display is a vintage fire truck near the main entrance and a British built steam locomotive that is house in it's own building

Out of season, good place to go jogging or short walks, except when they are planting and spraying pesticides and fertilizer.
In season: Tulips everywhere. And some other flowers. If that's the stuff you like, this park is for you. Actually just in the spring when they have their big tulip festival. Otherwise it's really just kind of like an outdoor venue with lots of gardened spaces. During the festival, there's lots to be seen, especially if you are a fan of plants, bright colors, flowers, or modestly large crowds, or festival food. Little kids might like it a lot, or be really bored. I think one visit is good for anyone, but repeat visits, at least in the same year, might just be limited for those really into this kind of thing. There is also a gasshozukuri house. Anyways, my favorite thing at the festival is the food stands. Try the... Unique flavors of soft serv ice cream (tulip, soy sauce, white shrimp). Actually don't try the shrimp one.

Nice garden next to the river Showa. Typical Japanese. Night light in the evening. Information about the dam.

Mall was fairly modern with everything you need - good food court as well as restaurant area downstairs. Also had a 100yen shop for bits and pieces if needed.

砺波平野は日本最大級の散居村地域であるとのことで、楽しみにしていました。散居村の全貌を眺めるために、小高い丘の上に建てられたのが散居村展望台です。広い平野の中に、１軒ずつ屋敷森に囲まれた民家が散らばっている様子は、のどかな田園風景そのものといった感じです。

普段は何もない広い公園なのが魅力です。
菖蒲の花に時期には少し人がいますが普段は休日でも誰もいません。
車がないといけない場所なので行くのは大変ですがのんびり散策できます。
お天気が良い温かい日などは最高です。
今はほとんど知る人もいなくなりましたが、頼成の森は昭和58年の富山県の育樹祭の際、皇太子時代の今上天皇が行啓されたことでも有名です。
まさに自然の森の中の公園です。
昔は妻とよくのんびりしたデートの際に来たものです。
普段は誰もいない穴場の自然公園なのが頼成の森の一番の魅力です。

チューリップ公園に隣接する郷土資料館は、明治期に建てられた旧中越銀行本店を移築したものだそうです。正直言って、収蔵されている民具や考古資料よりも、建物の方が立派でした。資料館前の水路にあった、大きな五連揚水水車も迫力ありました。もっともこちらはチューリップ公園のほうの施設なのかもしれません。

Approaching the temple up the steps with the lantern path, we were met with golden lanterns and shades erected around the temple. This was largely due to Hatsunode, the new years wishes celebration.
The atmosphere was tranquil and allowed a few nice minutes of prayer and contemplation.
As with many temples in Japan, it has been destroyed and rebuilt, but the style of the temple remains timeless.
It is a beautiful temple and well worth a visit if you're looking for something different to see around Toyama. It is about 35min drive from Toyama Station on good roads.

チューリップ公園に隣接している美術館です。常設展として地元の作家の作品や、市民の作品を展示しています。訪問した時は、アプリケ製作者として著名は宮脇綾子氏の作品と、藤森兼明氏の洋画が展示されていました。地元密着の美術館には好感が持てます。３階のテラスからは立山連峰を眺めることができるはずでしたが、曇天のために見えませんでした。

砺波市は国道と高速道路のインターチェンジ周辺は開発されて久しいのですが、駅前周辺も昔と比べたらはるかに立派になっています。
砺波駅も城端線という単線の鉄道の小さな駅ですがこの駅だけが新築されて立派な駅になっています。
2時間に1本のジーゼルの気動車が走っている駅には見えない立派な施設です。
ただ砺波市周辺の名所は広い地点に点在しています。
また砺波市は毎年のように道路が整備され、半年行かないと道が変わってどう行けばよいのかわからないような街なので案内さんも観光客の方に説明するのが大変でしょうね。
急速に発展した砺波市でトレンドに十分について行けなくて本当にごめんなさいといった感じの施設です。
でも富山市と高岡市以外でこんな施設ができただけでもすごい砺波市の発展ぶりだと思います。
