We played the course several times on our stay in Swellendam and really enjoyed it. We were surprised at how challenging and beautiful it was. Was in great shape - especially considering they hadn't had much rain. Mark and the other staff members were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Had some lunch - toastie and a footlong hotdog and both were excellent and VERY well priced! Will definitely play again on our next trip through Swellendam.

This was our 4th trip and it gets better every time! Helps (for us) to go mid week and not during school holidays as we get real peace and quiet. The family that runs Umshanti are so friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble for them. This time we took our camper van and got exclusive views of the dam on the pitch we had. The scenery is so beautiful and the ambience so peaceful when there's nobody else around. Will definitely be back again soon. Would highly recommend for both families and those seeking peace and quiet as long as you pick your times to suit your requirements.

White water rafting is one of the biggest thrills in nature! The rush of the river, the splashing water and the warm sun beating down on you makes you feel so alive! Sharing this experience with friends and family makes it all the more special and strengthens bonds and relationships. Various options are available ranging from a day outing, one or two nights. The one day trip departs at 6.30am and returns by 6pm. The rafting tours are offered by APA – African Paddling Association registered and qualified crew. High safety standards are maintained with an emphasis on having fun while being safe. Due to variable weather conditions, it is important to be prepared for both very warm and cold weather.
