Arsenalen - Sveriges Forsvarsfordonsmuseum

Arsenalen, the Swedish tankmuseum - a museum filled with vehicles, both with tracks and weels, from the early 1900s to modern Machines from the present day. Witness the smell and technical devlopment, and confront the fate of war from our times.

Well worth the trip to see a good range of rare Swedish Armour as well as many items of foreign armour used by Sweden. The museum consolidates the collections of a number of organisations to present a comprehensive overview of Swedish armour through the ages, and the display is modern, well laid out with vehicles easy to access from a number of angles. Photography is welcomed and there is a small gift shop and cafe attached. The staff were welcoming and informative. There is also a display of local regimental history and an extensive display of model figures. A must see for any fan of armour, especially if you are looking for rare items.

Absolutely worth a detour. The viking carvings with many wonderful details are on a large flat stone, hidden in the woods. Look for the explanation sign. You can park nearby and walk in the woods.
