The Gallery of Matica srpska

Reviewed By 63bobr - Belgrade, Serbia

What a pleasant surprise! I did not know what to expect but the gallery was great! So many really famous paintings and icons! The rooms were really nice, with different color walls. Even there was a small room to relax while Arabic music was playing to the exhibited painting of oriental motive! The entrance is not even ONE euro! Only 100 dinars (last day of January 2021)! Just unbelievable! The shop has a good choice of books and postcards! I highly recommend!

It was lovely, rooms are great, there are markings for where to stand and from where to take the photos, for maximum effect. Staff is very friendly and helpful, there are accessories like selfie stands with additional lighting for taking better quality pictures. There is so much choices and so much additional accessories (clothes, lighting, objects) to make great selfies and memorable moments. This is a must visit, if you are in Belgrade!

Love this place, been back a few times. Its a little bit more expensive than other museums and there arent many staff around to ask for help, but the volume of planes scattered all around the inside and outside of the buildings mean that doesnt matter much. Everything from early aviarion history to WW2 to cold war relics to Yugoslavian airlines passenger plane. Can climb in one of the practice planes to look at the dials.

Sirogojno

An open-air museum "Staro selo" (the Old Village) in Sirogojno portrays the traditional village architecture of the Zlatibor region. All facilities and household objects are authentic. In the museum workshops copies of museum exhibits are manufactured and also, the skill of potters, carpenters and other artisans is manifested.

Sirogojno, on Mount Zlatibor, Serbia is a quaint open-air museum, like an ethno village. We visited in December so it was covered in snow. There is a little restaurant serving pies and strong hot coffee. Worth a visit. You can also find food preserves and there are a few stalls selling a range of sheep wool garments.
