Catedral Angelopolitana

We have hired Caminho das Missoes for our three day travel to Santo Angelo and the area on September. As we decided last minute to confirm the trip we contacted two different travel agents and liked better the first reply from Caminho das Missoes. The owner, Romaldo, was able to asist us quickly and replied answering all my questions that were not a few as it was our first trip to Santo Angelo and the Missoes area. Romaldo was able to book the best hotels in Santo Angelo as well in Sao Miguel das Missoes. We cross checked his choices against Trip Advisor comments on the hotels and verified he was able to offer these great options at very reasonable prices. Upon check-in, everything was fine and an upgrade was provided to us in Sao Miguel das Missoes as well. As we planned to arrive in Ijui we needed transportation to Santo Angelo ( around 30 miles) and back as well. A very kind gentleman was awaiting for us when we got to Ijui with a very good quality and clean car. The driver also suggested a good place for us to have lunch in Ijui on our way to Santo Angelo. Upon arrivingnin Santo Angelo, Romaldo took us for a guided tour to the city. Great quality tour getting to know lots of the untold history by academic books. By the amount of pepole saluting Romaldo, we noticed quite fast that he is very respected person in the area. We also decided to attend the mass at the gorgeous Santo Angelo Cathedral. Guess who Romaldo knew very well: the priest. After mass we spent a good time at the Pie Festival ( cidade das tortas) which is a local annual people celebration where they serve several local foods, including, of course, a ton of different pies. At the Festival which is run in front of the Cathedral, we where able to observe the genuine local people and enjoy great live regional music (musica gaucha). The next day we took our 32 mile (52 km) bike ride from Santo Angelo to Sao Miguel das Missoes. A wonderful cross country ride with stop at Sao Joao Batista ruins. Bikes were very new and great quality and Romaldo stayed with us to guide us through Sao Joao Batista reduction. A support car accompanied us all the time. It was Viktor and his date who was also responsible for the bikes. Arriving in Sao Miguel after a day long ride was spetacular and Romaldo arranged a guide to tour us over the incredible ruins of Sao Miguel das Missoes. At the morning of our departure the driver was at the hotel, timely, to drive us back to Ijui. What a superb quality service we got. Thanks to Romaldo, a local single guy, deeply unvolved with the community and its history, a friend of the local historians, a friend of the priest, friend of the indian descendants, a director of the city trade board and a local carnival organizer. Praca Pinheiro Machado

Reviewed By Heloisa_Nunes - Teresina, PI

Recomendo.
