This was an incredible spa therapy experience! I am unused to such pampering but Aoife made it a pleasure with her attention to detail and calm, unhurried and serene nature which encourages relaxation and an all round extremely enjoyable experience. Aoife has a lovely manner and treats her clients with respect and gentleness while being extremely professional.
I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone for some enjoyable 'time-out'.

My imagination ran wild, I could hear the wings of the fairies as they skirted around us, I could feel the nature and positivity as I turned each and every corner.
A great place for adults and kids alike!

Rang and booked table for five when we arrived we were shown to booth just inside door at bar however the five of us crammed in round this little table when drinks came wine water beer candle the table was full, I mentioned to waitress that table was small - and she agreed but didn't give alternative I didn't want to start fuss as it was dads 82 birthday. Food arrived five large plates and sides! Water bottle mixers etc put on floor and I had to lift my plate each time I wanted a drink. So advice to others ask for large table this table we had was for three. Food wonderful but bit common sense needed by staff when a table is not big enough.

Stand up paddle boarding available located Rathmullan

Having had an excellent Surfing lesson with Luke last year, I decided that I should try Stand Up Paddle Boarding. I have watched people paddling around Rathmullan and assumed they were all experts but this is a really accessible sport for anyone.
I met up with Luke and three other beginners at his store in Rathmullan where we were sorted our with good quality boards, paddles and wetsuits. We were given basic instruction on the beach and then we were off, on our knees at first and then standing up after a short paddle.
I'm in me late fifties and not the fittest or most nimble, but after a couple of false starts, I was up and paddling along the shore. It takes a bit of effort but it is very rewarding. Paddling gently along is very relaxing and it gives a different perspective on the coast.
As we paddled back under the pier, there were a few small waves. They made it a bit more challenging and great fun.
Later in the day, I could feel that I had taken some exercise but it was a pleasant all over tiredness, no great strain on any particular parts!
I would recommend Paddle Boarding to anyone.

Kinnegar Brewing

Our brewery’s roots are deeply embedded in the hilly fields and farms of northeast Donegal. This is the perfect environment for the way we make beer. We don’t filter or pasteurise, and we let our industrious little friends, the yeast, carbonate the beer naturally during fermentation. With the opening of K2, our new state-of-the-art facility in nearby Letterkenny in March 2017, the clinking of bottles coming off our line no longer mingles with the bleating of sheep from the surrounding fields. The farmhouse ethos at the core of what we do however remains the same. We pair brewing tradition with a contemporary sense of adventure to produce clean, crisp full-flavoured beers.

Very informative tour, small brewery but relaxed visit, kept quite simple and easy to understand explanations of the processes. My only minor complaint is whilst Rathmullan House is a lovely spot to sample the beers, and the pizzas are indeed great, there's something special about sampling a product on the site were it's made...maybe that could feature in the future?

The Old Courthouse

The Old Courthouse is a curio/bric-a-brac shop in the hearth of Rathmullan, on the Fanad Peninsula. As the name suggests, it is in fact, the old courthouse. Once inside, one needs to be very careful, as there are items all over the place. How the owner stock-takes, I'll never know. However, it's a very interesting shop, and you could spend a lot of time here, browsing the merchandise. On my visit, I got speaking to the owner, who is a very pleasant man, and seems to enjoying chatting to his customers. Well worth a visit if your in the vicinity. You might even buy something!!

Rathmullan Sailing & Water Sports School

The School’s objective is to make sailing and Water Sports accessible to everyone. We do this is by keeping course fees as affordable as possible. To be able to expand our course schedule and open up even more opportunities for people to get on the water and enjoy themselves.

Reviewed By CrawK - Belfast, United Kingdom

Great instructors and excellent sailing courses. This sailing school was highly recommended to us. My children did the week long summer courses -- beginner sailing and Cara na Mara (for 7-10yos). They both had a great time. It's an extremely well run school -- one child was nervous and the instructor very patiently worked to encourage and reassure. The youngest was meant to do half days but ended up staying for full days as enjoyed it so much. The standard of instruction and organisation is outstanding.
