The gorge is short (around 200 meters) but spectacular, especially after heavy rains. I had the luck to visit it in such conditions and the roaring river, the mist and the lush green forest environment was just breathtaking! Definitely recommended for anyone in the area to experience the force of a small but powerful river: the Wimbach.

The valley can be accessed from the Wimbachbrücke in Ramsau, through the Wimbachklamm gorge or on a parallel way to that. There are lush green pine and mixed forests, the clean Wimbach river with good water, the wide ravine, and peaks and mountain walls all around. The Wimbachschloss restaurant is within good reach. The Wimbachgrieshütte at the end of the valley is a much longer trip. Recommended for hikers looking for a not so steep, easy trail.
