What to do and see in Quebec City, Canada: The Best Sightseeing Tours

July 25, 2021 Darleen Reid

Quebec City may be the only fortified city north of Mexico, but it welcomes visitors with open arms. Explore the Citadel, where you might catch Canadian troops staging a military ceremony. As for food, you could splurge on afternoon tea at the Chateau Frontenac, or do as the locals do and snack on poutine—french fries with gravy and cheese curds.

A little bit late to review but better late than never. My wife and I took this historical food tour of Quebec City in February 2020, and we are really glad we did. We were the only people on the tour so received the full attention of our host. I left the tour having learned so much more about the history of Quebec City, something I very much appreciated. We visited five establishments that took in appetizers, main courses ... note the plural! ... and dessert. All the courses were really very good. This is a great experience but certainly not like sitting down to eat a meal. Definitely recommended though.

The guide was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. There were a lot of video recordings which make you feel as if you are there. The guide was very informative about history and traditions. I have done a few virtual tours, but this is by far the best!

MAY 1st visit. Francis was a wonderful guide: attentive to our wants and needs, informative and fun. We were a tough audience as I am a tour guide as well in another city and my boyfriend had no interest in doing this tour. It ended with him being impressed with everything he learned and me having nothing but good things to say. Highly recommend this company.

We took the express tour with Oliver & Claude as our guides. It was easy to find near the top of the Funicular. It started raining so Oliver let us on the bus a little early but it stopped as the tour started so we all went to the top deck. I would recommend taking this tour early in your stay to get a good orientation of the city and then you can see some of the places that might interest you to visit later.
